I have a great complex with a few black rebel hairs in my stomach and I have tried almost everything to get rid of them. One of those wrong purchases was this home electrolysis device.
It comes neatly pressented in a white plastic case that makes it easy to transport and store. Inside the case there is a pen-like tool attached to the case by a cable. This tool has a needle or stylet that retracts for easy storage and to protect the needle itsef ,which is very flimsy and delicate. There is also a pair of tweezers that do not work very well. Under the tweezers there is a spare needle.
There are settings from 1 to 10, to control the intensity of the electricity.
how it works
To make it work you have to hold the pen-like tool with your fingers wet in salty water (so the chemical reaction occurs), then insert the needle in the hair folicle as deep as you possily can and using the highest setting you can resisit... it does hurt a lot!! After 15 seconds you can take the needle off the hair follicle and tweeze it; the hair should come out almost without pulling because the root of the hair has been destroyed.
Well, the needles are too thick for insertion in the hair follicle, they either retract (for security reasons, or so stated) or bend in contact with the skin. First stylet/needle bent almost immediately and so i had to use the replacement one. After several attempts and at least 30min, i just about managed to insert the needle in a hair follicle; after 15 seconds of torture a white fluid was emerging from my skin (chemical reaction), and on tweezing the hair came out without problem. I did get a small spot like wound for a while, which then turned into a small scar... and the hair came back!! I have to say that it took longer to come back than usual, so for a while i had hope, but when it came back was just as thick as before and with a scar that took months to fade.I will not use this torture instrument ever again: it is time consuming and useless.
