Very useful points system.
Advantages: 4 loyalty points per pound spent. Disadvantages: A lot of attractive offers on overpriced goods.
Boots would just be another store to me if it didn't have the best point card system on the high street. I always top-up my Orange mobile phone there for £5 a time and get 20p in points and usually £5 in vouchers. I top-up quite frequently so I can get all the toothpaste, soap and shampoo I need without forking out cash.
When It comes to the vouchers and the 3 for 2 offers though I think they are really a false economy. You just want some vitamins ... ...many Product Recalls from Boots. I only hope this means they are more than averagely conscientious.
I always felt guilty about liking Boots because of their connections with animal testing. Now I understand they have sold their animal testing business to another company. Does that mean their hands are clean? ...

Boots Botanics
Advantages: Good for the sink and really works Disadvantages: Expensive
Boots Botanics is a very nice range I am talking specifically about their face - lift firming cream which I have been using for the past 6 months.
O.k it's slightly greasy at first espescially to the touch, but when you rub it in it applies easily and makes your face feel soft instantly. However I do feel it has a slightly greesy feel to it.
I can see it working well for older skins that are dry and need some moisture to them, but skins that are ... ...You will find this in Boots as it is specially made in Boots and will cost you roughly around £6 which isn't too bad as it lasts for ages and you only need to use a small amount each time you apply it.
(I wrote something else here and Ciao seems to be losing all my work today so I will sumarise what I said.)
If you do buy this cream then you could treat yourself or buy it for your lover for Valentine's day.
One thing I did nottice is that it acts ...

Boots Cucumber Cleansing Wipes - simple product, good value
Advantages: Affordable, remove make-up easily, don't dry skin or leave it greasy Disadvantages: Not biodegradeable (?), don't provide a deep-down skin clean
...believe some wipes in the Boots Botanic range are biodegradable and clearly labelled as such. The wipes do contain parabens, chemicals which concern some people. They are used for preserving products and protecting against microbial growth, and I believe that they're derived from blueberries. Most cosmetics and toiletries contain parabens, but if you like to avoid parabens then avoid this product. I find the wipes easy to use and good value. They ... ...They can be used in the eye area (with care, as with all products). They're a daily staple for me in my skincare routine, and I'd recommend them to everyone. I have even used them for dusting objects and surfaces as they don't appear to leave a residue, but that's probably just eccentric behaviour on my part! ...

Four actions in one!
Advantages: Does what it says it will, pleasant and easy to use Disadvantages: Expensive
...recommend moisturising afterwards as the Boots website tells you to if you have really dry skin.
--Scent--
The scent was just really clean and clear. Reminded me of freshly laundered towels.
--How does it feel on the skin?--
The wipes are cool and refreshing and the stuff they're soaked in isn't at all harsh or abrasive.
--Does it do what it says it will?/How does your skin feel afterwards?--
It removes makeup perfectly and you really feel ... ...face feels clean and smooth and it really gets rid of excess sweat after a workout too. The only thing I didn't notice was any improvement in my skin, which was slightly surprising given the presence of witch hazel in the product.
--Value for money--
While this product was pleasant to use, it's a LOT more than I would normally spend on face wipes. You only get 25 wipes or so in the pack and that's not really very much for the money paid. One good ...

Get one of your 5 a day with Boots Cucumber!
Advantages: Good value; smells good Disadvantages: Stings my eyes
...because I'd been impressed by Boots own-brand skincare in the past. With face washes, I've found you don't always get what you pay for so thought I'd give this budget option a try! There are several products in the Cucumber range, and all come in similar minimal, light-green packaging. This wash comes in a tube which stands on its flip-top lid. It's made out of soft translucent plastic which is easy to squeeze the product out of, and also easy to ... ...consistency is perfect - not too runny but lathers up really easily with hot water on your face. The smell of cucumber is pretty 'genuine' as well, and not at all chemical. I wear quite a lot of eye make up and this did dissolve it quite well, although it stung my eyes slightly. It made lots of froth (which I like) but rinsed off really easily with a wet flannel. It left my skin feeling really clean but not too dry and tight, and very refreshed. ...
