I first used this product in 2007 when we were trying for our third child. It gave an easy way to show fertility. Using 3 bands, low, high and peak. The monitor detects your 2 best days to get pregnant, this is shown as a `peak`. The monitor is different from other ovulation tests as it detects 2 hormones (LH - Luteinising Hormone ) which triggers you to ovulate and it also detects a rise in Oestrogen. You can get up to 5 high days before your peak (after the first month when you usually have a longer period of highs). The monitor remembers your cycle which aids each month.
The only disadvantage to this product is the price. They retail at around £100 but can be purchased cheaper on the internet. The tests come in boxes of 20 and after the first month you should need around 10 so that will last 2 months.
So, day 1 of your cycle you set the monitor up by pressing the `m` button. Then, usually day 6 on the first month, the monitor will ask for tests.
Worth every penny. I have concieved within 5 months of using this monitor after over 1 year of trying each time.
The Clearblue Fertility Monitor identifies the prime fertility days to help women who are ... more
trying to conceive maximize their chances of getting pregnant. A non-invasive and easy-to-use device, the Clearblue Fertility Monitor consists of a handheld monitor that, along with the use of the Clearblue Fertility Monitor Test Sticks, identifies changes in fertility hormones. While most over-the-counter ovulation tests monitor the LH hormone on its own, the Clearblue Fertility Monitor tracks both LH and estrogen hormones to typically identify up to 6 fertile days â€" 2 days of Peak Fertility days and 1â€"5 days of High Fertility.
