I am pretty lax when it comes to removing make-up and clearing my skin but recently I have noticed that the spots I thought had gone from my life were popping up more than often. I decided that I needed to look after my skin more often and I started removing make up, applying moisturiser and using spot treatments. While browsing the shelves of my local Asda I came across these face wipes on offer for just £1 which I thought was excellent value for a clearasil product as generally their products are pretty expensive. The regular price of these wipes are around the £2.99 mark so I think I got a pretty good deal.
The wipes look a little different to the picture provided, the pack I have is a mixture of deep blues with a sticky tab that reveals a foil type of covering on the inside, I presume this is to keep the wipes moist and fresh. I found the tab is sticky and I've had no problems with it losing it's adhesive and rolling backwards which is good I think. The pack is nice to look at but generally I'm not all that bothered about what it looks like as long as it works.
The pack contains 25 wipes and on removing one I found that they had a strong smell that had a hint of tea tree to it. The were also pretty thick and had a texture to them which I assume aids in giving a deeper clean. I also found that the wipes were larger than regular face wipes of which I find allows me to give my face a really good clean without the wipe drying out and becoming useless before I'm done. They were tough and didn't clump, rip or tear during use which I was pleased with.
When I wiped over my face it had a tingly feel to it but ultimately I did find that my face felt very clean and fresh however I do think it dried my face out a little and I definitely needed a moisturiser afterwards to ensure I wasn't left with dry skin. The next morning I found that my skin did feel much cleaner than it does with using just a make up remover so I was really pleased that my skin was properly cleaned and not just the top coat removed. I was also pleased that the strong smell hadn't stayed on my face as it really isn't the most pleasant.
After a few days use I found my skin was a lot clearer than it had been. I tend to get a cluster of spots on the right hand side of my chin and a couple of stray ones on the left and it really does annoy me something awful especially as I can't leave them and have to pop them. The spots I did have have dies down and I'm waiting on the remaining traces to disappear but I haven't had any more pop up so I am satisfied that these wipes are doing the job they are intended to. I think that the regular selling price is a bit too expensive for these although they do work. I would happily purcahse at £1 or even £2 a pack but any more than that and I wouldn't stretch to it. For the price point I do have to remove a star.
