Review of "Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Pads"
About to move house, yet again (the joys of being an army wife!) so having some much needed time off and thought it about time I updated my status!!!
Hubby has been getting a few spots lately and was not happy with the face wash he use as it did not clear them, I was perfectly happy using it and still do. We spotted these when out shopping so decided to give them a go.~~PACKAGING~~
The wipes come in a white plastic tub, there is a blue and white screw lid on the top. The front of the tub has the Clearasil logo on it and the product name and on the back of the tub you can find the directions for use and ingredients for the wipes.~~USE AND RESULTS~~
To use the wipes it is very simple but for the first use you will have to battle with the film seal over the top of the pot on the inside of the lid. I found this was very hard to remove and you may benefit from using some scissors to pierce it before pulling it off. Once I had got into the wipes I was instantly hit with the smell. There was a strong antiseptic smell from the wipes and it was quite overpowering. The smell remained for the duration of using the wipes but I am happy to say it did not stay for very long after using the wipes on my face. There is a hint of the smell left on my hands so I find I have to give them a good wash after using these wipes. The wipes are a fairly small size and are round in shape. They are white and measure approximately 5cm wide. My first impression when looking at the wipes was where are the rest of them as the tub was only half full but they did look quite refreshing in the tub. I did find I had difficulty getting just one of the wipes out as they are overly moist they all seemed to stick together. When I had achieved this thought I set about using it on my face. To use the wipes all you need to do it wipe them over the face area and the neck but not the eyes. I was actually shocked when I had done this as I could noticeable see dirt which had been removed from my face, the one which I had not long washed and believed to be clean! After using the wipe my face was left feeling damp but you are not to dry it, it soon dried up within about 20seconds by itself.
There were no instant results from using these wipes but I did notice how much cleaner and fresh my face looked. Hubby has been using these for a good few weeks now regularly and his skin has greatly improved, t has taken a lot of the redness and spots away and the skin looks fresher and more moisturised. I don’t think I will be using these on a regular basis though as I much prefer using my daily face wash. The wipes are to be used every morning and evening and this is what hubby did to get the results he did.
~~INFO~~The wipes come in a fairly good pack size, I was disappointed by the lack of wipes inside as they only seemed to fill half of the pot. I would say that there are around 65 wipes in the pot so it will last for a good length of time depending on how often you use them.
There are some warnings on the back of the tub and the main one being that these are not to be used on or around the eye area. I have to say I did notice that if I wiped slightly too close to my eye then the smell did make my eyes water and it was not nice. The tub claims that you will get results in just 4 hours from these wipes but I don’t really agree with this and would advise that you use them for a good few days in both the morning and evening before you can expect good results.
The product ingredients for those wishing to know are:-Aqua, Alcohol Denat, Salicylis Acid, Glycerin, Isoceteth-20, Sorbitol, Sodium Hydroxide, Parfum, Lavandula, Stoechas Extract, Helichrysum Italicum Extract, Cistus, Monspeliensis Extract, Disodium EDTA, PEG-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben
The wipes need to be stored in a cool dry place and out of reach of small children.~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~
These wipes are widely available in all good chemists and supermarkets, I would say they are around £3 per tub. Fortunately I managed to buy mine from my local Home and Bargain store where they were priced at £1.49 which I feel is good value.~~RECOMMENDED?~~
I am going to recommend these wipes despite only giving them 3 stars. I have found that they are smelly and overly moist and do not give the 4 hour results as claimed. They are good if you are prepared to put up with the strong smell and use them twice daily for a good few days before seeing any major results. Worth trying for yourselves if you can get them for a good price.
