I have been trying to test out a lot of new cosmetics lately but apart from the usual eye shadows and eye liners I wanted to really start improving my make up routine. When doing my make up I think it seems to look fine but my only problem was getting rid of the dark circles under my eyes. No matter how much sleep I get or don’t get I always have dark under eye shadows and it was starting to get me down as in photos it doesn’t look good at all and I was jealous of those who didn’t have this problem but I still really needed to find a product that could solve this problem.
So, I was looking around different make up counters but didn’t really know where to begin.
At first I had been using the Dior Radiance Booster pen which is like Touche Éclat almost but the thing with this was that it wasn’t thick enough and was barely making any difference it was just making my under eye look really pale and obvious that I had used something. One day me and my friend were getting ready to go out and she gave me a concealer pen which she said she didn’t use so I tried it and it seemed really good but I needed to get the right shade for my skin colour.
So I went to the Clinique counter and had a look around I finally found the Airbrush Conceal but there were a choice of four shades. The one I had been given was the lightest of fair but having a tan this was just looking too light for me. So the next one down is Neutral Fair which I ended up going for but I now think I show have bought the 3rd one in Medium as it is dark enough. These concealers don’t seem to differ much in colour; they all seem relatively pale but Neutral Fair still works fine.
I decided to buy it at a cost of £15 at Selfridges and went home with my purchase. The packaging is very nice on this product the box is peach, green and white but it is all in a floral design so it is nature inspired but classy. On the front is the silver Clinique logo indented into the box which is a nice touch. In the pen you get 1.5ml of it which is enough as it is only for covering blemishes etc not foundation. The product is 100% fragrance free and allergy tested and the ingredients are all listed on the side of the box for more detail.
The actual Airbrush pen itself is very nicely designed. Like all Clinique products the pen is the usual light green colour. It has a silver metallic lid and when you take this off you can see the top of the pen which is like a mini paintbrush, easy for application. All of the text is in silver on this pen so that it can be easily seen on the pale green background. The pen promises to illuminate and perfect, soften lines and shadows and have a fast brush application. It is a light reflecting pen and is meant to perfect the complexion and eye area. After reading all of this I was ready to make the shadows disappear.
So I had to twist the bottom of the pen quite a lot to finally get some of the concealer to come out at the top. I just slowly applied a few dots along the dark under eye line. I then started patting it into the skin trying to blend it in so that it would look quite natural. It was quite easy to blend the concealer in as it wasn’t sticky and the colour was ok. The dark shadow was slowly fading away and after a lot of blending in it actually looked quite good, I was impressed. I also had a few blemishes to apply the concealer over as I bought it for those reasons too; it also made them look very hidden.
My overall opinion of the Concealer after I had properly applied it was I was really happy with it. Of course it doesn’t do miracles and although it did hide pretty much most of the dark shadows it didn’t make them disappear completely. However, it does reflect the light and so the under eye was more my overall colour and it made me look a lot happier and less tired which for £15 I couldn’t really complain. Maybe it will work even better if I go for the Medium colour next time.
The Clinique Airbrush Concealer can be bought at all Clinique counters for the price of £15. You can also buy it online at http://www.clinique.co.uk but that will probably have postage rates which take the price up a little. The only good thing about going to the actual counter is you can pick out the right shade for your skin tone so it blends better and also see if you like the results before spending your money on it. Also on the website you can see more product information and other products in the Clinique range.

Not tried this – I use a Loreal one that I got for free in some promotion which is pretty good. I hardly use enough concealer to warrant spending this much on one really x

You don't mind paying for something if it works and this sounds as though it does. x
Advantages: Light, easy to apply and blend - it works! Disadvantages: May be too expensive for some.
