As a total make up and skin care addict I've got just about every product available on the Clinique counter! At the tender age of 20 I'm already well on the way to getting those dreaded crow's feet near the corners of my eyes as well as cursed wrinkles underneath them... whatever happened to ageing starting at 30! On one of my more recent trips to Clinique - I'd just got an average grade in an essy at university AND Footballer's Wives had just finished screening - I decided I needed a little pick me up treat! After catching sight of my eyes (big black bags and wrinkles) in my car mirror I decided something had to be done and so trotted over to the trusted Clinique counter - they can never fail to put a smile on my face!
My very good friend Alex the Clinique lady - I even know her name and hugged her last time I saw her out in a club in town - greeted me in her usual way (she knows I'm going to spend a minimum of £25!)! I explained the problem and she suggested a product called "All About Eyes."
Upon first glance I was left very unimpressed, it was contained in a miniscule pot of a pink tinted colour with a silver lid - not like the customary green lid Clinique products most of us are used to. The front just has the words "Clinique all about eyes" wrote on in silver so gives a very plain yet somewhat expensive impression.
When I opened the pot I was greeted by quite a thin cream, very slightly tinted pink and smelling a bit like Sally Hansen nail care products - if you've never smelt them then it's a sort of astringent yet plain smell - quite pleasant really.
Directions were to apply the cream once or twice daily depending on the amount of distress, so being fairly modest I settled on once daily. You need the smallest amount ever, it really rubs in and is absorbed into the skin within about 20 seconds. Once on I automatically feel the skin around my eyes become a little big tighter as if it's been pulled in somehow. I've always found in the past that when using eye cream any make up I put on over the top appeared uneven and stuck to where the eye cream was more so than the rest of my face - this isn't the case with this eye cream!
THE OVERALL EFFECT IS.... actually very surprising, I'd say it does do what it's supposed to do. The instructions given state that the cream will "Diminish the loo of puffs, circles, shadows, lines." I'd say with time and constant using the black shadows and circles I've had under my eyes have faded and the lines have become less pronounced. As for puffiness I only get this after crying or from a hangover so wouldn't really know if it's much good for this! If you're wanting overnight results then this isn't the product for you, I was told to use it for at least 4 weeks before even inspecting for results.
The pot costs £20 for 15ml which is quite a lot of money for such a tiny pot! I've been using mine for over a month now (well since Footballer's Wives finished!) and I'm only about a quarter of the way through my pot so I'd say if you use it daily it'll last you about 5 months. It's available from all Clinique counters so Boots and Debenhams are sure fire hits!
...me a huge box of Clinique skin care products, most of which were small size, but this was a full size pot. I say full sized, this tub contains 15mls which at the moment is the only size they do. This is the same size as a lip balm tub but astonishingly enough this pot costs £20! Their website converts this into how much it costs per 100mls which would be £133.33! WOW!
The Pot.
The pot is adorable, a clear tub with a silver lid, the cream itself ... ...any Boudouir.
Application.
Clinique recommends a three step system.
Cleansing, Clarifying and Moisturising. On top of this they sell numerous products to work along side to combat problem areas. They advise you to use all about eyes after applying their dramatically different moisturiser. Which I do since a pot of that came in my box too! You apply this sparingly with your ring finger. A tiny amount goes miles! You literally need to touch the ...

...eyes I decided to give Clinique All About The Eyes a go.
At £20 for 15ml I did feel it was rather expensive but I had heard great reviews about it from friends and in magazines. So I took my tiny pot home and began to use it.
So what does it promise to do?
Clinique say "Diminishes the appearance of eye puffs, darkness, and fine lines. Lightweight, cream-gel formula actually helps hold eye makeup in place"
Great, just what I was looking for, maybe ... ...Clinique say the features and benefits of all about the eyes are
"Minimises the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. Helps to minimise, soften fine lines and wrinkles. Helps to make the fragile eye area skin stronger and better protected. Soothes, comforts and smoothes the eye area. Calms and soothes. Protects against environmental damage. Extends eye makeup wear."
So i took my plain looking pot of All About The Eyes and put it to the test.

Advantages: lasts a long time, actually works, looks good on your shelf Disadvantages: a bit pricey
...cigerettes and came accross the Clinique stand.
So many people have raved about Clinique products so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try one out. I spent a long time perusing the shelves and suddenly a small little pot caught my eye. It stood out as, unlike most of the clinique products, it doesn't have a green lid and looked different so I bought it.
The Pot
It comes in a 15ml pot about the size of a pot of lip balm or maybe ... ...and has a silver lid. The brand and product name are clearly displayed on the front. My initial thoughts were that the pot looked tiny and at that price I wouldn't be able to afford regular refills, it looked like it would run out after a month maximum however the directions did state apply sparingly so maybe I'd be proved wrong.....
-The Claims-

Advantages: Tones skin, nice silky texture, diminishes dark circles Disadvantages: Doesn't rid me completely of the dark circles, no SPF
...screw top lid. Like all Clinique packaging, it's simple but classy and looks great. It has a plastic cover underneath the lid to prevent the cream from falling into the lid if you're travelling which is one of my bug bears, so thumbs up from me there. It retails at around £20 for 15ml, which is reasonable for a premium brand eye cream, (as long as it works!) and you can buy Clinique products from Boots, Debenhems, House of Fraser and most other department ... ...and doesn't clog the pores. Clinique have realised this concern and produce two versions of All About Eyes, the regular version, and a rich version, for skin that is more wrinkle prone and needs a bit more attention. To apply, I use my finger to get a tiny amount of the cream and stroke it gently across the skin under my eye, moving from my nose outwards. If there is any residue left on my finger, I stroke it across my top lid for good measure. You ...

...eye open (no pun intended) Clinique often run offers where you can get free samples, or get freebies when you buy X amount, so it is worth looking about for their special offers. of boots points this time and lots of samples which are great for the make up bag. I went in with no make up on just to show her how hideous I was and she immediately recommended Cliniqueallabouteyes concealer. She applied some for me and wow! I was hooked! I did buy two other items too which I needed too... no really I did! It all came to around £50 but I don't buy it often so I didn't mind too much. The concealer was £15 for 10mls, yes the tube is tiny but a little goes a long way.
*Application*
You can apply this with your finger, a sponge or a brush. I either use my foundation sponge or my finger depending on how lazy I'm feeling. I apply mine after my foundation simply because it stays on better and you tend to use less after foundation as you already have a little layer of coverage. The liquid is very thick almost like Vaseline ...
Advantages: Easily absorbed and visible results Disadvantages: Cost
Like many people nowadays I spend all day staring at a computer screen or mobile display, and on the days when I'm let out of the office, at a busy road or a Sat Nav screen. All of these were starting to leave their mark on my eyes - getting a constant "gritty" feeling by the end of the day and, most alarmingly, leading to increasingly noticeable fine lines and discolouration of the skin around my eyes.
I decided to try to correct this problem by getting myself some eye gel or cream, thinking that any old moisturiser would do, but I quickly found that I'd wandered into a very specialist area of skincare, where many products are available, at alarming prices. Whilst buying my after shave at a local Clinique counter I noticed their "AllAboutEyes" product and decided to give it a try.
The Product
The cream is very slightly gel ...
Advantages: It will last a very long time. Disadvantages: It's too heavy and didn't really do what it said on the tin.
I brought this product on the recommendation of a girl I know who used to work for Clinique.
I was looking for a product to cover the slight dark circles beneath my eyes, they're not terrible, but adding some concealer around my eyes make me look much brighter. She recommended this concealer to me, because I also get puffy eyes sometimes (I'm slightly allergic to dust) and apparently this concealer will work to reduce puffiness.
I've been using this concealer for around 2 months now and I'm not overly impressed.
The concealer is very thick in texture, yet in order to get the coverage required to conceal my dark shadows, I have to put quite a substantial layer on to the eye area - which ends up looking fake. The concealer doesn't leave me with a natural-looking finish, if anything my eyes end up looking too bright. I've tried ...
