With having a 6 month old baby boy who keeps me up all night, I needed a quick fix to lighten up my face, without the tons of make up. Seeing as though my main problem area is dark circles and puffiness around my eyes I decided to give Clinique All About The Eyes a go.
At £20 for 15ml I did feel it was rather expensive but I had heard great reviews about it from friends and in magazines. So I took my tiny pot home and began to use it.
So what does it promise to do?
Clinique say
"Diminishes the appearance of eye puffs, darkness, and fine lines. Lightweight, cream-gel formula actually helps hold eye makeup in place"
Great, just what I was looking for, maybe this £20 was going to be worth it after all.
Clinique say the features and benefits of all about the eyes are
"Minimises the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. Helps to minimise, soften fine lines and wrinkles. Helps to make the fragile eye area skin stronger and better protected. Soothes, comforts and smoothes the eye area. Calms and soothes. Protects against environmental damage. Extends eye makeup wear."
So i took my plain looking pot of All About The Eyes and put it to the test.
Does it work?
So I put it to test. I applied the cream as the instructions stated, sparingly with my fingertips over the whole eye morning and night.
The cream it's self is thick, and a little bit does go a long way. To me it doesn't really have a nice smell, it smells a bit like hand cream, but it is quickly absorb into the skin. On applying it to the skin you do feel this tightening effect. After using it on the second day, I did notice that the dark circles under my eyes didn't look so dark, and that after using it in the morning the puffiness did go down as well. I wouldn't really say that it helped my eye make up stay on longer, but it did improve the brightness of my eyes. After a month of using it, the skin around my eyes was a lot firmer and I was even able to just apply mascara and blusher to go out, no need for the tons of concealer.
Overall I think the cream is great, my eyes look ten times better, and it has even softened the appearance of the crow's feet. I've had the cream for 3 months now and i'm half way through the pot. If I get 6 months out of it I think that makes it seem less expensive. Also i do have sensitive skin, and this did not irritate it or cause it to blemish.
Clinique is available at larger boots stores as well as counters in other larger department sores. If you pop down they might have some free samples for you to try.
I Highly recommend this product.
