I bought all seven shades of Clinique® Almost Lipstick. My favourites are Almost Blush, Bronze Lilac and Ruby Melt. Let me break it down for you.

And, lastly: Sheer Blackberry: This is my least favourite shade in the whole lineup. It may look well on someone with Medium skin, yet blue undertones. I think this will do extremely well on someone with Dark skin. This being a violet, it is actually the only one in the line that I consider to be a true violet in every sense of the designation.
Kieli Note: I would offer the advice now ... ...a glossy-type, however some are dark enough to stay on the lips. I prefer to wear a slight gloss over these, to protect them from rub-off.
The colors are very sheer and smooth. They cover very evenly, yet are sheer enough to be worn as a gloss. They all have very moist, shiny quality to them. As usual, Clinique® is hypoallergenic.
Packaging: ~4" slender brushed silver case with pull-off top for the top 2" ... more
Though I don't regularly wear a lot of makeup unless I'm meeting with some clients, gallery patrons or going out, I do like to wear lipstick or lip-gloss to keep my lips in check.
I bought all seven shades of Clinique® Almost Lipstick. My favourites are Almost Blush, Bronze Lilac and Ruby Melt. Let me break it down for you.
*NUDES*
Almost Cocoa: Possibly the most sheer shade in this entire line. I don't particularly love this shade, but every time I wear it, people say it looks great. I don't know. I would recommend this for others with Medium/ Olive skin tones or even Dark skin.
Black Honey: This looks nothing like honey, black or otherwise. That being said, I do like this shade. It has enough red in it to give my pout a twinge of colour. Almost Lipstick in Black Honey won the Allure Readers' Choice Award for 2003 for best lipstick.
*TAWNIES*
Ruby Melt: Whoa Mama. This is one of the BEST shades that has ever come in contact with my lips. (D-D) This is a peachy-red that really packs a whallop, all while letting the natural beauty of ones lips show through. All joking aside, This Tawny shade is perfect for every skin-tone. Brilliant. This is night-time shade. I know there are some people who like wearing dark lipsticks during the day, so this should work for you.
*PINKS*
Sweet Nectar: Very slight shade with just enough pink to be classified as such. I love this for spring-wear and for mornings in the summer. Goes extremely well for those with yellow undertones to their skin. I would not recommend this for those with Dark skin.
*VIOLETS*
Almost Blush: In the Violets category for reasons unknown to me. I have always considered this a nude. This is my perfect every-day wear shade. I use Almost Blush when I'm having a day meeting with some clientele. This being what I consider "Nude" I deem this great for virtually everyone. Yes, even you.
Bronze Lilac: Now this shade is my second favourite. This is a Spring, Summer AND Fall colour for EVERY (and I mean EVERY) person. Dark, Medium, Fair... yellow, blue OR pink undertones. I can appreciate that most people won't think this colour is so great, but I emplore you to try it, if only at the Clinique counter.
Kieli Note: I would offer the advice now that these do NOT have any particular staying power as a glossy-type, however some are dark enough to stay on the lips. I prefer to wear a slight gloss over these, to protect them from rub-off.
The colors are very sheer and smooth. They cover very evenly, yet are sheer enough to be worn as a gloss. They all have very moist, shiny quality to them. As usual, Clinique® is hypoallergenic.
Packaging: ~4" slender brushed silver case with pull-off top for the top 2" and base is the remainder.
Application: Apply on clean lips as usual. There are ups and downs to any product. The downside to this is the fact that it doesn't last. Like I said, it wears like a gloss/sheer. If you like the longer lasting stuff, try throwing on a Quick-liner for Lips®. It holds the lipstick on a bit longer.
Length of wear: One tube should last the user ~3-4 months with daily wear. That being said, persons with smaller lips may get more use from this and persons who frequently re-apply lip-sticks normally will get less wear. You know, common sense.
Try them on before you buy them!
£12.00 is a lot of money to spend on lipstick that looks horrible on you! Make sure that you see yourself in REAL light before buying ANY of the makeup that you've tried on. Estee Lauder is renowned for good indoor light quality, but poor real light quality. In case you didn't know, indoor lights have different tones than that of outdoor REAL lights. Typically, indoor lighting is yellow or green, while outdoor lighting is blue. Don't be a victim of "Lighting Makeup"! Makeup should look good on you, whatever light you're in. I have found that most Clinique® products have good light respect.
From Clinique.co.uk: Glossy, sheer, non-staining lip colour. Soothing to the lips. Gives moist look and feel, shiny finish. SPF 15 protection.
Advantages: sheer and lovely color Disadvantages: does not last, drys out your lips a bit
This is one of the best lipsticks I've tried. You know how with some lipsticks, you end up looking too severe and made-up? Well, problem solved. They call this "almost lipstick" because thats what it is! More sophisticated than a gloss, but not as serious as a lipstick, its perfect for any occasion
I have it in "Black Honey" which is fantastic and I've almost finished up the tube. My skin is medium-light with yellow undertones. This color really ... ...out it being "whoa!" Most of my friends have borrowed this lipstick one time or another and it looks amazing on all of them. They describe it as "it really makes your lips POP". The color has a magical way of adapting to whatever skin tone you have to make it truely a personalized color. I admit the name sounds scary and dark but trust me its perfectly wearable.
It glides on smoothly to rest on top of your lips. It imparts a slight sheen (which ...
