Before I go on, let me first give a brief aside into the "3 Step System" for any of you poor souls who may be unfamiliar with it. The System (apparently created by "guiding dermatologists") aims to tailor-make a set of products to each person's specific skin needs, by combining one cleansing product (step 1), one exfoliating product (step 2) and one moisturiser (step 3) according to your skin type. Time was you used to have to consult the scary ladies on the Clinique counter to find out your skin type and product prescription, but these days you can also do it for yourself on their website by using the "skin report" function (take a look at www.clinique.com/templates/user/skinreport.tmpl if you want to do one for yourself). ...Clinique Laboratories Inc. is one of the world's most famous producers of prestige skin care, makeup, hair and perfume products. Clinique was first launched in 1968 and claims that all cosmetics are Allergy Tested & 100% Fragrance Free. It all started when a Vogue Editor Carol Philips joined Lauder to create a new cosmetic line. Clinique is part of the Estée Lauder group. This includes Estée Lauder, Prescriptives, Origins, M·A·C, Bobbi Brown, Aveda, La Mer, Stila, Jo Malone, Bumble and Bumble, Kate Spade beauty and Michael Kors.

Advantages: Jolly good skin

...Before moving to France, I was one of those women whose most expensive toiletry purchase was a Boots own, three for the price of two, makeup remover/moisturiser/ toner - I really didn't give the subject much thought. On arriving in Paris, I was faced by a very peculiar phenomena - women seemed to spend *A LOT* of money on looking good, not just their clothes, but also their skin care. Not to be outdone by the chic little b*****s (do I sound bitter?), I decided to investigate.
The most popular brand here is Lancome, but after discovering that Lancome also own Loreal and basically repackage those items for the Lancome range (and being allergic to most Loreal products), I decided to try out Clinique.
