Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 (Oily Skin)

Clinique 3 step skincare products seem to be "love it or hate it", with some people complaining that they contain too many chemicals and too much alcohol, making it harsh and stripping the skin. There is no denying that this is hardly the most natural skincare range, and I do like to use some natural products where possible, but when it comes to daily skincare I want something effective. I bought this as part of my Clinique 3 Step Routine and it's the only part of the routine that I don't really like. It costs £14 for a 200ml bottle but unlike the cleanser and the moisturiser, this one doesn't last that long. There are 4 different types to choose from which are just numbered from 1 - 4 , this one, number 3, is for oily skin. Clinique Clarifying Lotion for oily skin is Step 2 of the "3 step skin care system" by clinique. Clarifying lotion for oily skin is in an opaque dusky pink bottle, with a pistachio green screw cap. It carries the distinct clinique logo in silver print. All clarifying lotions by clinique, are toning exfoliators, which lift away dead surface skin cells to make the complexion smoother. I have to admit that I've had this product on my shelf for a few years and shyed away from it as it was quite painful to use. It does sting, and can dehydrate your skin a littel bit. My skin would feel tight but smooth after use. I didn't use it regularly because of this. Then one evening, fed up with not being able to shift my foundation, I put some Clarifying Lotion 3 on some cotton wool and for want of a better word started to gently rub my face with it. I have mainly oily skin which is prone to very bad spots, but I started using this product just over a year ago and I love it. It really cleanses my skin, removing excess make-up, grease and dirt which would otherwise clog my pores. I still get the occasional break out but my skin recovers much more quickly since using it. It leaves the texture of my skin much smoother and enables moisturiser to absorb in much better. I have had positive comments about the texture and appearance of my skin since using this product.
