I was first introduced to Clinique by my Mum and then beauty therapist sister. I must admit, I felt a bit left out by listening to them comparing different Clinique products, I had to admit, I had not heard of them. My Mum gave me a few samples to try and after that, I went on a spending spree.
Different lipstick is one of Cliniques lipstick lines along with Long Last, Almost and Colour Surge, they also sell lipstick pallets. The lipsticks (except the pallets) are 4g and they are all presented in a lovely silver case. This isn`t a separate silver case, but the actual lipstick itself, that you remove the lid and wind the stick up with. It is a silver coloured metal that looks attractive and classy. They come boxed aswell, attention to detail. Incidentally, the lipsticks are also available in a green case, these are usually GWP (gifts with purchases). The Different lipstick is creamy, contains emolients and apparently lasts without staining the lips. It is available in six colours Tenderheart which is nude, Sweet Honey, Glazed Rose, Blushed which are pinks and Raspberry Glaceand Honey Ginger which are violets. The one that I have is Raspberry Glace, though I do have other Clinique lipsticks, but not the Different lipsticks. They used to cost £11 when I bought them, but they seem to have gone up to £12 now. Can I just point out that I have never paid full price for one, shop around on the internet.
Where to Buy. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Most major cosmetic counters will sell Clinique, sometimes only in the larger stores. Selfridges and Debenhams sell it definately. It is available on line from different web sites (search before buying for the cheapest price). Clinique has a website which has mail order, but you will always pay full price. Sometimes free samples are available. Look out for offers on Clinique. Every now and again there are promotions, when buying 3 or more Clinique items, you get a GWP. The gift that you get varies with each promotion, but they are usually quite good. If you use Clinique regularly, it is worth making use of the promotions. If for example there is an offer on and you buy cleanser, toner and moisturiser, you would get a GWP which may be a make up set, skin care set. Look out for one that you fancy. These gifts are usually full size, but in green casing rather than silver. I do find Ebay sells lots of Clinique and this is a good place to look for cheaper items.Would I recommend? ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Clinique Different Lipstick comes in nice shades, if there is not one to suit you in the different range, try one of the others, you will find your colour somewhere. I like the colours and have lots of different ones, obviously not only from the Different range. The lipstick does not have a paticular aroma, it does smell slightly of lipstick, but not too overpowering. It goes on easily, feels comfortable, not dry at all and provides good, even coverage. It makes the lips feel nice and moisturised. As soon as it is blotted with a tissue though, the colour disapears, you need to apply several coats. I always use lip coat which helps keep the colour, otherwise I think I would be reapplying all night. The lipstick leaves colour on the glass that you are drinking from. It certainly is not an all nighter. I am not the sort of person who likes to be in the toilets all night reapplying lipstick, I might miss something! It is a good advert though and talking point, getting a silver case lipstick out, it is obvously Clinique.
Although I like the shades of the lipstick, I am not impressed with it`s staying power, far from it. I would expect more from a lipstick of this price. The silver case has a certain lure about it. It is far classier than a lot of lipsticks. I will be a while using the Clinique lipsticks that I own but, when they are finished, I don`t think I will be buying any more. There are a lot morebrands around that are cheaper, and just as good (if not better). Whilst I am not slating the product, I think in comparison with other, cheaper lipsticks, it is not as good. You could get one equally as good for half the price. One good thing though, the staying power is not good, so it is not too much trouble to remove when you get home!
Clinique recommends that you use the lipstick with their Cream Lip Shaper and All About Lips, as, obviously, it works better. I didn`t try this.
If you wish to view any of the shades or any other Clinique products, they are on:-
Advantages: A bit glossy, doesn´t dry your lips Disadvantages: Doesn´t cover very well if that´s what you want
I´m a makeup junkie with bagfuls of the stuff, especially lipsticks. I love Clinique! Their Different lipstick is a bit glossy and see-through. I think it varies a bit, though - different shades act differently! Some of them are a bit more see-through than the others. It suits very well even the drier lip. I used to use these more when I was younger...and i think somebody older might prefer something a bit more opaque as their lip line is not so ... ...bother with lip liner with this one! Try one of the natural "raisin" shades and see what you think! To be absolutely honest, I prefer LLSS lipsticks nowadays, but I recommend these for all you teenagers and twenty-somethings! It will not dry your lips like some products do. ...

Each year I buy a bottle of Dramatically Different Moisturiser and a lipstick by Clinique. Two products at one time you see and you will receive a ?fantastic free gift? which usually comprises of a trendy looking make up bag filled with sample sizes of various of their products. I give this to my oldest aunt who is in her late seventies; she is always very impressed and makes the little bottles and phials last all year.
If you, like me, feel oddly intimidated by the flashy counter and the orange-skinned lady behind it do not despair. The Sunday supplements invariably carry adverts by Harrods, Selfridges or Debenhams for these special offers by mail order!
Dramatically Different Moisturiser is my cannot-be-without daily luxury. My skin is very sensitive and has a tendency to outbreaks of a scaly sort of psoriasis and, as I travel ...
