I walked into a department store to buy this product for my mother-in-law who will use nothing else, she has clear, beautiful and young looking skin. Whilst I was in the store the sales woman noticed that my skin is not so perfect!!!!

I have what is known as millia, basically they are deposits of oils deep under the skin that look like white spots on your face. People can get then all over the body but they are common on the face, especially around the eye area and high cheek bone areas where much oil secretion occurs or if you wear glasses, oil deposits in this area.

I have had millia for years and never been able to rid them, you can not squeeze then out like a black head and the only treeatment for them is to have them cut out!! For this they must be extremely bad (a 9/10 on a 1-10 scale with 10 being worst).
I have about a 4/5 which sounds ok but you can see them and I know they are there!!

On occasions they can get painful as they get bigger or some people can have then infected!!

So whilst at the Clinique stand this lady convinced me to get:
Three step soap, clarifying lotion and dramatically different moisturiser.

Thre soap and lotion made my face feel extremely clean and the moisturiser made my skin soft and smooth.

However, dispite the fact that the clinique lady told me that the three step system would reduce and eventually remove my millia she was wrong!!!!!

She obviously did not know her stuff, and at the time I was non the wiser but the ingredients of dramatically different are:

Water (Aqua Purificata) Purified, Mineral Oil (paraffinum liquidum, aka liqid paraffin), Sesame (Sesamum Indicum) Oil, Propylene Glycol, Tea Stearate, Gylceryl Stearate, Lanolin Alcohol, Petrolatum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

Generally in a list of ingredients the most abundant products are listed first and then it goes down the list.

The second most abundant product in dramatically different is mineral oil. A product that will rehydrate the skin but is also a major contributing and causing factor of millia!!!!!

If you have oily skin or are prone to oily breakouts, white heads, black heads or millia then avoid this product, in fact aviod all products with mineral oil in!!!!!

Obviously your skin needs to be hydrated so if you have oily skin drink lots of water and if you are going to use a moisturiser use one that does not have something----oil at the top of the ingredient list.

Unfortunately it never occured to me that it was the clinique products that were making my skin worse as I believed that the woman at the clinique stand knew what she was talking about!!!!!!

It was only when my husband bought me a surprise facial with a demalogia stockist that I was informed about the mineral oil, and my own research confirmed this, as did my skin!!!!!!

I have now thrown away all my clinique, very expensive trash can that day!!! And am using Dermologica.
If you get oily breakouts or millia then I would suggest that you try demalogica renewal booster. It contains low concentrations of various acids (dont work it wont burn your face off) that renews the skin, removing dead skin cells and such like.

Any way as this is a section for clinique dramatically different I would not recomend this to anyone who has oily skin (although it says its ok) or with millia, white heads anything like that and to them I would suggest finding a demalogica consultant.
If you have normal or dry skin then this product is packed with moisture adding ingredients that will hydrate you skin but lacks ingredients that will help your skin retain moisture so you may find that towards the end of the day your skin feels dry again.

If you want further information or opinions please be specific in your comments and I will be happy to babble on some more.

To your comment about the lancing babyUK - I have had it done!!!!! They use a needle and make a cross in the skin over the millia. They then push the needle into the skin and kinda hook out the millia. However your millia need to be towards the 8/9 end of the scale for this to be effective. Mine are at the 4/5 at their worst but the therapist had a go at trying to remove them for me. It was sucessful on a few of them but not all. You get left with a face filled with little scabs or bright red marks. and because I was only a 4/5 after the redness and scabs had healed I still had millia.
If you are considering lancing then do make sure your therapist HAS done it before and that your millia are worse enough for the treatment. No matter how desperate you are to get rid of them its not worth it if they are still there at the end!!!
Facials can help but only if the correct treatments are used. A facial that is for hydrating and moisturising skin will not help but one designed to renew and refresh tiered skin may do!

You can have your millia lanced by a beauty therapist - but he/she must be qualified in electrolysis to be able to do it. Facial massage can help too xx

Mineral Oil is liquid paraffin which does actually block your pores x

Good review. I never found any problems with this, but ovbiously different skin types react differently to things.
