BASIC INFO This creamy lotion from Clinique is 100% fragrance free and allergy tested. Clinique do not use animals to test their products but DO test their products on willing, human volunteers so that you know the product is safe to use. This particular product has been around for decades and is still selling incredibly well which shows how well loved this product is.
This particular version of Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion is a 125ml bottle with a pump-action dispenser. It generally retails for about £27.00 (although prices may vary slightly)
It's meant to be used with a three-step skincare system. At a Clinique counter your skin type will be assessed and you will then get a cleanser(soap or liquid cleanser), a clarifying lotion and a moisturizer tailored to your skin's needs. However, although it is recommended to use this 3-step system many people simply use the moisturizer from the range. (and as the some beauty experts say.. . if you're not rich, you can get away with buying an expensive moisturizer and cheap everything else - which is definitely what I do!)
WHAT'S IT LIKE TO USE? Dramatically different moisturizing lotion is a good description of this product! A soft yellow colour, it glides on smoothly and is quickly absorbed into your skin. It is especially good for dry skin and skins that are dry in the cheeks although I know several people who love this product and have no dry skin problems whatsoever. It's not greasy or watery and seems to have a mattifying effect. It makes a great base for makeup and gives skin a healthy glow.
A little goes a long way with this product, so although it is rather pricey it does last a very long time - this 125ml jar lasted well over a year for me.
Once applied, skin feels velvety smooth instantly and with regular application I'm sure it has improved the overall quality of my skin - as it says on Clinique's website, it "soften, smoothes and improves".
I have very sensitive skin which gets rashy with a great many products, but this lotion smoothed and calmed my skin and so it seems to be good for sensitive skins.
Also.. although my cheeks and forehead get very dry, my nose and chin are very greasy, and unlike other products it didn't cause me to breakout. (however, it's probably best to use sparingly on greasy areas.. as you don't need much to begin with.)
DESIGN The design of the packaging of this particular product is better, in my opinion, than it's more traditional jar with a screw-top, which can be difficult to get the lotion out of once it's less full. It costs an extra pound to buy this pump-action version, but in my opinion it's worth it as it saves time and frustration .. also it's probably more hygenic as you're not sticking your finger in the jar and transferring bacteria.
CONS? On the down-side, for such a pricey moisturizer, it doesn't have an SPF or all the fancy vitamins and minerals or anti-wrinkle action we're all used to in that price range.
OVERALL? This product is great for those with dry, uncomfortable skins, especially in winter moths and makes your skin beautifully soft and smooth. I haven't found another product like it do make my skin feel so good. Although expensive, a little lasts a long time, but it doesn't have the added bonuses of sunscreens/vitamins/anti wrinkle formulas which we have come to expect these days.

Advantages: Works well on all skin types (though supposedly for dry skin), lasts ages. Disadvantages: More expensive than other brands (though it does last for ages to make up for it).
