Clinique products are widely available. I bought mine in the airport. Clinque can also be found in large Boots store and most major department stores. As I was in the airport I didn’t have to communicate with a lady in a white coat!

The shampoo comes in sleek 200ml bottles with snap-top lids. The shampoo itself is a pretty lavender colour and is slightly opalescent. It’s quite thick for a shampoo. You don’t get any additional packaging other than the bottle that is a bit more environmentally friendly than many luxury brands.

The claims: Opalescent lavender shampoo that gently cleanses dry/damaged hair. Moisturises and repairs. Rehydrates for better behavior, control.
My naturally curly hair is also highlighted which doesn’t really help my frizzy situation. I wash and condition my hair every day as for the following reasons: - it gets greasy at the roots and makes me feel uncomfortable, and it gets driers and frizzier at the ends - using frizz easing products means I get a product build build-up - my hair picks up smells easily - I can only brush my hair when it’s damp otherwise the curls turn into just big hair!
So I am always looking for the perfect shampoo. I want something that cleanses throughouly (including removing product residue) but doesn’t dry my hair out. Also I don’t want the colour stripped from my hair and I don’t want my hair weighed down by a heavy product as it will loose curl.
I’ve been sending so much time hanging around airports recently (not my new hobby – I’ve been commuting weekly to Switzerland) I’ve had plenty of opportunity to browse the beauty counters in duty-free. I thought I’d give the clinique hair-care range a go.

The results: It does exactly what is says on the bottle. My hair is softer and cleaner without being stripped of any precious moisture. I’ve been using this shampoo for a couple of weeks now and my hair is noticeably shinier without getting heavy. How to use it Same as any normal shampoo. No special instructions here. The only piece of advice I would give is that I found I was using too much as the shampoo itself is quite thick. More like a conditioner. It lasts longer if you ensure your hair is thoroughly wet before applying the shampoo as this creates more lather.
Value for money ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This isn’t a cheap shampoo. Normal price is £8 but I paid £6.50 in duty free. Clinque often have special offers so keep an eye out for these. I’ve seen much more expensive shampoos though and a little goes a long way. Well worth it in my opinion.
Additional information ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Clinque have a web site at www.clinique.co.uk that lists all of their products and helps you select ones appropriate to your hair / skin type. You can register on the site and store your favourite product list. You can also search for stores.
This shampoo is complimented by ‘dramatic moisture intensive conditioner’ which I have also bought but haven’t tried yet as I’m still finishing off my old conditioner.
Conclusion ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was a bit sceptical at trying a more expensive conditioner, especially one from a skin care rather than hair care company but I have been really pleased with the results and will certainly be buying this again in the future. Obviously I’m totally swayed by the attactiveness of the shampoo itself!
Advantages: smells sweet and citrusy Disadvantages: a bit overpriced
This shampoo had a nice, citrusy smell, very soft and subtle but also very fresh and not in the least overpowering. It lathered up very quickly and easily but not too much lather, just the right amount. It really cleansed my hair thoroughly and got right to the roots. It rinses very well, leaving no residue or stickiness and it was so good, I didn't feel the need for a conditioner. It only took a small amount to wash my hair which was surprising ... ...better afterwards, it wasn't greasy at the roots and dry at the ends like it normally is. After using this product , my hair was much more manageble, softer and healthier looking. The packaging was very trendy and attractive and the shampoo was excellent but the only downfall was the price. It cost me £8 for a 200ml bottle which was very overpriced. ...

...and the 'swankiness' of the Clinique brand (!); when i got it home I realised that this was the one. you know, the shampoo that makes you fell great. the shampoo smells beautiful as the scent is not overpowering, and it left my (brittle, damaged) coloured hair feeling lovely, and 'manageable' to pinch a word from the commercials. The only problem with the product is the price - being a student, this is one I will not be able to replace - but for ...
