I am quite a fan of the clinque range ever since one of my closest friends recommended them as being a good brand of reasonable price for people, like me who have sensitive skin.
I own other clinque products including cleaning lotions, bathing oitments and lipsticks. I decided to give the eyeshadow a go as was feeling a bit 'experimental' as regards make up and since eyecolour is all the rage at the moement i thought i would not get left behind.
PACKAGING:
Lovely sleek looking silver container with mirror insert for applying it. Also comes with an application bud sponge wand. Fits into hand bag lovely, and doesnt break up in transport.
COLOUR:Fab colour, a sort of mix between rouge and orange, whihc is great for me as pinks dont quite go with my skin tone ...
Advantages: Reduces dark circles&puffiness, lasts for ages Disadvantages: Expensive
I got this as a sample from my friend who works on the Clinique counter in Selfridges. She gave me a few little pots of it so I've been using them for a few months now. Apparently they are the same kind of pots you get in some Clinique sets or the bonus time sets.
Packaging
They are tiny clear pots of 10ml with a green lid and Clinique printed on the side. But the actual eye gel comes in a 15ml tube, and I think is around £20.
My Experience
The gel looks really nice, it's like a pink/orange colour. It doesn't really have any smell, a bit like many of the other Clinique products. I do generally prefer things to have a [preferably nice] smell but I think fragrance-free quite suits Clinique's simple fresh products, making them seem more clean.
The gel feels really nice, it is really smooth on the skin ...
Advantages: A lovely creamy eye shadow which lasts all day. Disadvantages: The price! But you will always find these cheaper on eBay.
My love of the CliniqueColourSurgeeyeshadow duo's came about purely by Clinique often popping an eyeshadow into their famous free gifts. Seeing as I often only buy the things I use from Clinique when they have a free gift on, I've ended up with quite a few of their eyeshadows over time. Before this I was quite happy using any old eyeshadow from brands such as Rimmel or Maybelline, believing that a bit of 'colour' on my eye lids was all that was needed. I didn't realise the quality of these brands was rather poor until trying Clinique.
CliniqueEyeShadow
When looking at Clinique's eyeshadow range you will see they come in all shapes and sizes, with the Duo being just one. You can also get a Trio of eyeshadows, or a Quad, or you can stick to just a solo shadow on its own. I love the duo ones as they tend to have a small ...
