-PACKAGING- The lipstick casing is totally silver finished, with rings of dusted silver, and brighter silver both alternating through the length of the whole lipstick. The top base of the lid is totally plain and in the bright silver finish, so it's just like a mini mirror. This is useful because the lid can be doubled up as an applicationi mirror for an emergency touch-up here and there! When you take the lid off you see that the inside barrel is also to a plain silver finish. The packaging of the lipstick being so shiny, and classy , makes you want to buy it before you even test out how great the lipstick is, but then this is what this review is for, so you know if you want to purchase it or not!
-SHADES- There is a total rainbow of shades to choose from , and they're all grouped to match your skin tone! How great is that? So all you have to do, is pick which group suits you, and get shades from that specific family of lipsticks! There are 4 categories, Nudes, Tawnies, Pinks and Violets.
Nudes are neutral and great for any skin tone, as they mirrror natural lip shades and tones.
Tawnies suit the paler complexion and offer shades such as brick reds, and dull pinks.
Pinks, ofcourse are pinks, and they're more suited to tanned and olive complexions, as they bring a glow to the skin tone.
And Violets are for the richer brown skin shades, with richer coloured lipsticks, to complement the colours of the skin.
But there is no need to rigidly stick to the groups, they are just there as a guidline, to show how the colours are grouped and arranged. I personally like experimenting, and found that violet berry from the Violets group suited me, when I'm supposedly meant to be in the Pinks, so it's just about preference.
Look at the bottom of the page for all the colours available, and the groups, as I have uploaded the colour chart with this review.
-WHAT IT PROMISES- "Longest-wearing, soft shine formula. Keeps its just-applied look for hours. Won't feather, creep, stain or dry out"
So there are 4 points to be observed, t -Softness (texture) -Staying Power -Quality (feathering/creeping/bleeding) -Moisture (when it dries out)
And I'm going to give my evaluation on all of them!
-TEXTURE- When applying the lipstick, it has a rich creamy coco butter feel, and makes the lips feel soft and velvety. I love the way it simply slides on and glides across the surface of the lips even if they're dried or chapped. Furthermore, the thickness of the lipstick, coats and disguises any dryness on the lips- this is a trademark of a good quality lipstick, as it's rich and thick enough to lusciously coat the lips with colour, despite the un-evenness or dyness on the surface of the lips.
-STAYING POWER- The lipstick lasts a very longtime, the colour stays on all day, and withstands touching, wiping eating and drinking. However, the actual soft shine doesn't last from morning till evening and wears off about halfway, so keeping the soft 3D shine would need a mid-day re-application. Furthermore with the use of a lipstick sealant, which are available widely and cheaply in all beautyt stores, the lipstick maintains the shine AND the colour all day, and even all night!
The just apllied look lasting all day, and the colour being able to stay all day from morning till evening, I'd say that the staying power of Clinique Long Last is great. It works alot better than most long lasts on the market which dissappear at the slightest drop of water or liquid.
-QUALITY- Amazingly nough the lipstick never, never, never (!), feathers or cracks, and creeps and bleeds across the lipline. This is essential for a longlast lipstick, as if it did leak out of the lipline it would be a big problem as it would stain nearby skin and could pottentially ruin a day or night out.
The Quality is excellent, and worthy of the price, as you can have the assurance and confidence, thetre wont be any insightly mistakes to ruin the flawless finish for perfect lips.
-MOISTURE- The moisturising effect of this lipstick lasts even longer than the lipstick itself, from it's soft and smooth application, to even after the lipstick has been removed. It leaves lips feeling soft, and smooth for a while after you've taken it off, which just shows how moisturising and soft Clinique Long Last truly is. A lipstick being so soft and velvety on application and after, shows that it's really good quality and super moisturising.
-EXTRA INFO- It's best to use a soft brush when applying the lipstick if you want a shinier finish.
When you visit the clinique counter, ask for a free consultation, they sometimes give you another complimentary lipstick with the first purchase!
-FINAL VERDICT- Clinique Long Last in Soft Shine is a gem, with so many good qualities and no disadvantages whatsoever, why would anyone not buy it? It offers a great collecition of colours and shades plus it moisturises aswell, It does whatever you expect a good quality lipstick to do. So in my opinion Clinique Long Last is a great choice for absolutely anyone.
Advantages: great shade, stays on well, nice packaging Disadvantages: price
...much and then finally the clinique logo shone out a ray of light that made everything glow around me, well not quite but it caught my attention. I then realised my sight had been attracted here for a reason, there was a great offer on buy any two clinique products and get a bonus time box, this offer was too good to miss. I got an eyeshadow and then had to decide what to get with it so then I thought well why not a lipstick. i asked an assistant ... ...the lipstick with the silver Clinique logo on it. I would say the background pattern is green leaves and pink and yellow flowers but hazy and magnified making it hard to identify. The website and company address are on the side. The ingredients are told. I love the case of the lipstick it is in a very posh silver with a pressed in spiral so that it gives a 3D effect of a spiral going round the case. Overall a very satisifed customer, great offer ...

Advantages: true shades, long last formulation Disadvantages: the stronger shades can be difficult to remove
...been a fan of a Clinique lipstick called 100% Red for as long as I can remember. It is the truest of all reds, suits a wide variety of skin colour and is about as red as it gets. It goes on well, though I would recommend a lip liner and lipstick base as removing this colour is a task all of its own. It stays on as long as you want, don't go kissing if you don't intend to 'tell' as everyone will see where you've been spreading the colour. To get it ... ...do a great lipstick remover that comes in a kind of liquid that will take even this lipstick off.
A handy hint - if you don't have a lipstick base to help reds not to bleed then sweep foundation over your lips and lightly powder to help lipstick to stay put all night. Also a lipliner will help to keep the edges sharp which is a must with a colour of this high pigmentation.
I thoroughly recommend this lipstick to everyone, those who dare to wear ...

...But having chanced upon the Clinique Long Last (it came attached to a powder compact I bought) I was amazed how evenly it came off. The colour is there, then it gets lighter, then it's gone. No mess left behind, so if you're in the office or out partying, you don't have to worry about looking scary if you have no access to a mirror - just a bit pale maybe as the lipstick wears off after the 1/2 hours I get out of it. I love it and hope it will be ...

...got a goodie bag during Clinique bonus time, and this was in there. It is a very nice colour, too, Berry- something. It goes on nicely and lasts really, really well. It´s also very intense on. I´ve even used it on the opera stage, where your basic makeup won´t go the distance - usually. This one does. Would I buy it? I´m not sure. You see, the tube lasts and lasts, so I haven´t had to make the decision yet! But, to tell you the truth, I prefer Clinique´s ... ...But if you want your lipstick to last really long, look wonderfully velvety, this one´s for you. And does it dry my lips? No it doesn´t! Still, I´ve got such thin lips I need all the help I can get, and that means, at least to me, 1) lip liner! (read my raving about Lancome lip liner) 2) something glossier. But if your lips are ok or large, you´ll love this. It is the only long lasting lip stick I´ve ever tried on that i didn´t hate instantly! ...

Advantages: nice packaging, good range of colours Disadvantages: slippery, slimey, doean't waer well
Clinique just can't seem to get a lipstick right. This stuff is so soft and slimy the stick slips off your lips! You get so much on in 1 coat that you cover every glass, cup you drink from in the stuff and it really is slimey. Blotting doesn't make any difference because with 1 blot you remove the entire application.
If your lips are very, very, very dry then it might work for you - but I doubt it!
Denfinitely one to avoid although the packaging ...

Clinique is a well known, albeit expensive, cosmetics company. They produce a variety of cosmetics, creams for all skin types, cleansers, toner, eyeshadow, lipstick, make up bags and much more. I was first introduced to Clinique by my Mum and then beauty therapist sister. I must admit, I felt a bit left out by listening to them comparing different Clinique products, I had to admit, I had not heard of them. My Mum gave me a few samples to try and after that, I went on a spending spree.

Advantages: moisturising, long lasting finish Disadvantages: paler on the lips than it looks when testing on the back of your hand
I bought this product after scouring my local Debenhams for a longlasting, natural finished lipstick for my wedding day. Priced at £12, I thought it was a bit pricey, but the woman at the Clinique counter had all the talk and managed to persuade me into buying it.
The shade that I decided on had a pale, glittery finish (132 - waterviolet) and after testing it on the back of my hand I decided that it was dark enough without being too overpowering for my natural makeup that the makeup artist had tried out for the big day. But when I got home and actually tried it on my lips, I found that it was far lighter than I thought it was.
This lipstick is great and highly moisturising, if you want it to wear on a daily basis, but I would avoid it for nightime wear. I bought another, darker lipstick and wore this one over the top ...
Advantages: good freebies and good all round products Disadvantages: none
I went into boots today and noticed an offer that they had on for Clinique and as I am such a sucker for such freebies I had to investigate.
Basically upon purchasing two or more products from clinique you were entitled to a free gift but what’s the free gift I here you cry? Well actually it’s EIGHT!!! free gifts.
The box contained samples of different products from the clinique range and they include, 7 day Scrub cream rinse off formula 30ml, Dramatically different moisturising lotion 15ml, Anti gravity firming cream 7ml, Blended face powder 4.2g, longlastinglipstick 4g (in heather moon), Gloss wear SPF8 2.4g (air kiss), Clinique Happy perfume spray 4ml and a retractable lip brush in a shiny silver case. See what I mean great huh?!?
