I’ve always had pretty dry skin, and my mother has always used Clinique, so when it came to finding beauty products for my skin; Clinique seemed the obvious choice. My mother also used the Clinique 3-step skincare system, and took me along to Debenhams to get my skin ‘diagnosed’ at the Clinique counter; the result being I had dry and sensitive skin – so they recommended the mild clarifying lotion, along with some other products. I have been using the mild clarifying lotion in conjunction with other Clinique products for around 6 months now, and my skin is definitely better off for it! I use it morning and night; after a shower and after taking off my make-up. As the mild clarifying lotion is such a gentle product, it doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or itchy like other skin products tend to do. Also, as it’s so ‘mild’, it isn’t strong enough to remove your make-up, so use face wipes/soap to remove any before using the mild clarifying lotion. The mild clarifying lotion “speeds cell turnover; keeping skin clear, smooth, with that Clinique glow. Allows the driest and most delicate skins to reap the advantages of twice-a-day exfoliation,” as quoted by the Clinique website. The mild clarifying lotion definitely works for me, so if you too have dry skin, sensitive skin, and find it irritable when using products that contain strong chemicals, then Clinique’s Mild Clarifying Lotion could be the product you’ve been looking for! (Remember when buying Clinique products to shop at Boots, Debenhams, etc. as they often have promotions on, which benefit you with free Clinique gifts!)
Advantages: Only cleaning routine that works for me Disadvantages: Very expensive to buy all 3 products at once
...2 of the 3 step clinique system. As I have really sensitive skin I have to use the mild clarifying lotion instead of the normal lotions which are numbered 1, 2 and 3.
I have tried many different clensing products over the last 5 years and this one is the best for my skin. The other products I have tried have given me an allergic reaction, such as itchiness and my face swelling up so I was worried about trying this due to the inital expense, but ... ...she had similar problems.
Clinique do claim that no one can be allergic to their products because of their strict testing, but I do know some people who have found the products to dry out their skin. I do ocassionally get dry skin, but I only cleanse once a day instead of the recommended twice and use a free extra moisturising gel for 2/3 days and it fully hydrates the skin again.
I always try to buy my clinque products when they are on offer in ...

Advantages: tightens pores, reduces pimples and blackheads..exfoliates! Disadvantages: can smell like pure alcohol..can dry the skin out if not using the right lotion for your skin
a little bit about the brand and product:
Clinique is actually an american not french brand now owned by Este Lauder who also own brands like clarins, mac, bobby brown, aveda, skii and several more high end products as well as their own este lauder range of products. Clinique was founded in 1968 and was the first company to introduce their famous 3 step system still followed by almost every brand now that is cleanse-tone and moisturise.
The clarifyinglotion is the "toner" part although I was told it actually works more like an exfoliator and gets rid of dead skin cells as u sweep it across your face. The packing is an opaque cylinder bottle of either 200ml's or 500 ml's with a green screw top lid. It comes in 5 formulations: mild, 1,2,3,4.
hokaii.......... now onto my experience with the clarifyinglotion:
I remember going to ...
Advantages: it works Disadvantages: initial outlay is pricey
a toner made me think the exfoliation part was a load of manufacturers marketing hype. Apparently by sweeping (- yes sweeping not rubbing) a little of the lotion on a cotton wool pad you will help to sweep away dead surface skin cells there by helping to promote skin cell re growth, remove grease and you should end up with smoother, softer skin with a healthy clinique glow. My first bottle of the ClarifyingLotion came as a promotional size as part of a special offer on the Clinique 3 steps Cleansing regime.
Clinique manufacturer the clarifyinglotion in 5 different strengths
Mild - for very sensitive skin
Lotion 1 - for sensitive skin
Lotion 2 - for normal to oily skin
Lotion 3 - for oily skin
Lotion 4 - for very oily skin.
Prior to any impulse purchase it is important to get your skin type assessed, this can either ...
Advantages: Different types for your skin, cleans very thoroughly Disadvantages: cost,
rub. This helps to sweep away any dead surface skin cells, therefore helping to promote skin cell regrowth, remove grease. You should then end up with softer, healthier skin with a Clinique glow.
As I said before my first experience of this was with a sample, that seemed tiny but lasted two weeks. You really do not need to put much onto the cotton ball. Clinique have lots of Bonus Time events so the next one they had at my local Boots I brought the full size bottle of the clarifyinglotion and another purchase and you get about 5 free products (mostly sample size). So thats a good incentive to buy as the price is quite high.
You may be thinking what does the 2 stand for? Well Clinique make the clarifyinglotion in different strenghts for different skin types.
Mild - for very sensitive skin
Lotion 1 - for sensitive skin ...
