Packaging…
It comes in a little round pot, which looks very similar to most Clinique products. It has a silver screw lid and a clear pot so you can see the pink colour of the moisturiser through. There is silver writing on the front of the pot reading: “CLINIQUE moisture surge extended thirst relief.” Overall the pot looks cute, typically Clinique and good quality.
The Moisturiser…
The first thing I noticed about this is the lovely colour! It is a lovely pale pink colour which looks lovely! The texture of the moisturiser isn’t quite what I expected, as it is more like a gel or serum that a moisturiser. Rather than being white it is clear and feels cool to touch. It barely has a smell which goes along with most Clinique products which are fragrance free and therefore very delicate on the skin.
The moisturiser is really smooth and feels like silk when you apply it to the skin. It spreads really well and I’ve found that you barely need to use any. I’ve also found it hardly needs any rubbing in as it seems to melt into the skin, however this means you have to cover the skin quite quickly. It feels really lightweight on the skin yet still makes it feel very moisturised and soft. It has given me a totally different view on moisturisers, as I have always believed to successfully moisturise dry skin you have to use a heavy and thick cream, however this has proven that the same results can be achieved with a lightweight gel formula that won’t overload the skin.
As well as hydrating the skin it also feels really refreshing and my skin doesn’t feel greasy or look shiny at all afterwards. I think it would be ideal during the summer months or on holiday when the last thing you want is a heavy moisturiser. The moisturised feeling lasts really well, I generally use this at night before bed and my skin still feels soft and moisturised in the morning. I also find because it is lightweight and refreshing my face looks less puffy in the morning. I think this is a combination between the refreshing qualities of the moisturiser calming my skin down after cleansing at night, and also because it is lightweight it means that it doesn’t overload my skin which can lead to it looking puffy in the morning.
I have been using this for about a fortnight now and my skin is looking really good, and it also feels a lot happier. I’ve also found, as with many expensive products, I’ve hardly had to use any each time therefore the tub is still quite full. This makes the price seem a bit more reasonable.
Overall opinion…
I think this is ideal for people like me who are in their 20s and want to avoid premature wrinkles and look after their skin but without weighing down the skin with heavy anti-ageing products. I do think it is an expensive product and understand that a lot of people wouldn’t even consider spending so much on a moisturiser but for those who like to spend a little bit more for good quality, this is really worth it.

Review of Clinique Moisture Surge Extra Thirsty Skin Relief
Advantages: Moisturising, hydrating, fights against damage by winter! Disadvantages: Can't think of any
This is a great product. I first bought it a couple of years ago and whilst i don't use it all year round it is a must for thirsty winter skin. In winter your skin gets such a battering from the cold and windy weather and then central heating just dehydrates you eve more, Moisture Surge Extra Thirsty Skin Relief is a great night cream to put back moisture lost during the day. It is a light almost gel like consistency and you really don't need to ... ...I also use it in conjunction with All About Eyes and i find that this combination really protects my skin in winter. At first you might think it is a bit pricy but a little goes a long way and a pot lasts me for about 3 months. ...

Advantages: Face felt silky smooth right away Disadvantages: Did not smooth the very dry pactches of skin on my face
I bought this product because I needed extra moisturising for my skin. My skin is a combination type, with quite an oily forehead area but also I have some dry areas on my cheeks - which my main moisturising cream was not helping.
The product costs £27 for 50mL and it claims to:
"Gives an immediate moisture boost and plumps up skin's resistance to fine, dry lines. Moisturizes and soothes dry skin; intensifies benefit of moisturizer. Instantly refreshes ... ...and versatile for all skins; lightweight; absorbs quickly. Helps protect against environmental irritants.
BENEFITS:

I found that it had a very nice mild smell to it. The consistency of the cream was good and was very easy to apply and quickly absorbed. I used it every morning and yes it did give instaneous moisture relief to my skin ...

Advantages: Reduces puffiness, smooths lines Disadvantages: A little pricy
I love Clinique products and am regularly to be found at the Counter in Boots trying out different products. In particular I am a devoted fan of this little pot of eye cream. I use it all year round, in summer just a little under my eyes at bedtime on my crows feet and to reduce puffiness caused by hayfever. In winter i use it with Clinique DDML in the morning and with CliniqueMoistureSurgeExtraThirstySkinRelief before bed too.
You only need to use a small amount of it and it really does help bring down puffiness and smooth out those pesky little crows feet!
At £20 for a 15 ml pot at first this might seem a little expensive but you can very often get a 7ml size trial pot on Ebay if you want to try it out before spending £20. ...
