I got this as a 25ml sample size in a promotion pack I got recently from Clinique for buying 2 items. I’ve had a look though and found out it retails for £26.43 for the 50ml tub which sounds really expensive but for a quality brand I suppose it is normal. Clinique claim that it will:
_“Gives an immediate moisture boost and plumps up skins resistance to fine, dry lines. Instantly refreshes skin; leaves it feeling smoother and softer. Calms skin. Comfortable and versatile for all skins; lightweight; absorbs quickly. Helps protect against environmental irritants.”_
They also claim that it will provide hydration for up to 12hours.
Packaging…
It comes in a little round pot, which looks very similar to most Clinique products. It has a silver screw lid and a clear pot so you can see the pink colour of the moisturiser through. There is silver writing on the front of the pot reading: “CLINIQUE moisture surge extended thirst relief.” Overall the pot looks cute, typically Clinique and good quality.
The Moisturiser…
The first thing I noticed about this is the lovely colour! It is a lovely pale pink colour which looks lovely! The texture of the moisturiser isn’t quite what I expected, as it is more like a gel or serum that a moisturiser. Rather than being white it is clear and feels cool to touch. It barely has a smell which goes along with most Clinique products which are fragrance free and therefore very delicate on the skin.
The moisturiser is really smooth and feels like silk when you apply it to the skin. It spreads really well and I’ve found that you barely need to use any. I’ve also found it hardly needs any rubbing in as it seems to melt into the skin, however this means you have to cover the skin quite quickly. It feels really lightweight on the skin yet still makes it feel very moisturised and soft. It has given me a totally different view on moisturisers, as I have always believed to successfully moisturise dry skin you have to use a heavy and thick cream, however this has proven that the same results can be achieved with a lightweight gel formula that won’t overload the skin.
As well as hydrating the skin it also feels really refreshing and my skin doesn’t feel greasy or look shiny at all afterwards. I think it would be ideal during the summer months or on holiday when the last thing you want is a heavy moisturiser. The moisturised feeling lasts really well, I generally use this at night before bed and my skin still feels soft and moisturised in the morning. I also find because it is lightweight and refreshing my face looks less puffy in the morning. I think this is a combination between the refreshing qualities of the moisturiser calming my skin down after cleansing at night, and also because it is lightweight it means that it doesn’t overload my skin which can lead to it looking puffy in the morning.
I have been using this for about a fortnight now and my skin is looking really good, and it also feels a lot happier. I’ve also found, as with many expensive products, I’ve hardly had to use any each time therefore the tub is still quite full. This makes the price seem a bit more reasonable.
Overall opinion…
I think this is ideal for people like me who are in their 20s and want to avoid premature wrinkles and look after their skin but without weighing down the skin with heavy anti-ageing products. I do think it is an expensive product and understand that a lot of people wouldn’t even consider spending so much on a moisturiser but for those who like to spend a little bit more for good quality, this is really worth it.

Gosh this is expensive, my friend swears by products and sometimes gives me some of the freebies she gets, will have to ask her if she has tried this one.
