It’s fairly easy to apply, and as with any other mascara this is usually done looking stupid with your mouth wide open (who knows why?). It’s best to start on the top lashes with two strokes on top of the top lashes, and one coming out from underneath them. Be careful with the ickle bottom lashes because you can easily end up with a bit of a botch job if you are clumsy!
I’ve never really been the type of person to splash out on overly expensive cosmetics. I tend to excuse my tight-fisted ways by using the phrase “Just because it costs more, doesn’t mean it’s better”. You may know that Clinique is a somewhat expensive brand, don’t worry though, I didn’t buy it! I got this from a friend for Christmas, and only started using it this month as I had a perfectly fine Rimmel one which I could still use.
It has the typically understated sliver packaging of the majority of Clinique products, and has something about it which gives it an air of sophistication (what am I on about, it’s bloody mascara!!).The brush is quite long, and isn’t curved or shaped; it’s very straight and has quite a lot of bristles.

After using it, I have to say, my lashes didn’t really look any different. The bottom lashes were looking a bit perkier than normal, but only a very few of my top lashes seemed to be very heavy on my lashes, it looked very natural, which is why I suppose it’s called “naturally glossy”. I haven’t quite grasped the glossy part yet though, as I fail to see my eyelashes twinkling just yet.
There is a solution to these terribly uncurly lashes though. Stick a pair of eyelash curlers on before and after using the mascara and the results are much better. Seriously though, do be very careful with eyelash curlers, and make sure no ones going to jump out at you whilst you’re using them, otherwise you may just end up in hospital! If used properly they are a wonderful aid though,
So is it worth the somewhat unfriendly price of £12 then? To be honest, it’s not. You see, the secret of buying mascaras is to buy the brands like maybelline, rimmel. Why? Because these brands are usually branches of L’Oreal, Helena Rubenstein and other top brands, and after discovering the new techniques and using them for the expensive brands, these techniques will be used in the cheaper brands, and are more often than not, they are better than their predecessors.
The curl from this mascara is ok, but needs that little extra boost from eyelash curlers, which means more time spent on make-up which could’ve been spent in bed. It does last all day, and I’m a firm believer in not wearing more than one layer of mascara. It doesn’t clump, and does look quite natural, so I’d probably recommend it to schoolgirls or those who want to go for the au naturel look, without actually going au naturel!!
Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara
I don’t really have much trouble with my eyelashes, I’m very dark-haired so I wouldn’t say mascara would be top of the list of things I would take to a desert island with me. I know that to some women choose it as their 'number one couldn’t live without item', but I’d say mine would be blusher or bronzing powder of some kind. However, I would rule it out completely from my make up bag and it’s always good to accentuate ... ...not usually a fan of Clinique (see my three step review), but when buying products for someone else I was given a freebie bag which indeed contained a small trial version of Clinique’s naturally glossy mascara. So even though I am dubious about Clinique and their claims to make you beautiful, I figured it couldn’t do any harm to try it out, it was free after all :o) After a few days of wearing this mascara I had someone tell me how naturally long ...

Advantages: Easy application; no clumps Disadvantages: Name is misleading
...on the recommendation of the Clinique counter girl; I told her that I was looking for a natural mascara, that looked subtle and I could wear everyday without too much hassle.
This comes in a long sliver tube; very chic! I thought that the name was rather misleading simply because it doesn't make your eyelashes glossy at all-I think that you'd have to use a clear mascara for that! My eyelashes are dark anyway, so I was simply looking for something ... ...one that I think this Clinique one is most like is the Great Lash; both are suitable for a subtle everyday look.
When I first used this, I instantly liked it because I judge mascaras by their brush-the most important feature to me. This brush is long and the bristles are quite close to each other, as you can probably see in the picture. When you draw the brush out, just enough mascara is on the brush and you don't see any clumps at all. It's very ...

Advantages: It goes on so smootly that it won't clump and is non-fussy and hypoallergenic so, great for sensitive eyes. Disadvantages: can be pricey
...'Bonus Time' giveaway promotion from Clinique that hasn't included one of these marvels. The truth is though that it was quite some time before I actually tried it. I was a stickler for my old lash building waterproof, bulletproof one, and it wasn't until this ran out and I needed one, quick (!) that I bothered to give it a go. Well, I'm a convert. Unless I'm going swimming, or out in the rain with no brolly (both somewhat rare occurances), this ... ...the mascara is so smooth, it simply refuses to clump, regardless of layers. What a novelty! A really natural result every time - perfect for the heavy handed. Another big advantage, is that true to Clinique's brand, it won't irritate sensitive eyes and doesn't flake off, so is fine for contact lense wearers. Because it isn't volumising, lengthening or waterproof, it's basic formula makes it a breeze to wash off at the end of the day. No scrubbing ...

...be 'Bonus Time' at the Clinique counter in Jenners. I had often noticed the sleek, shiny silver packaging of the mascaras so I decided to read through the Clinique leaflet provided at the counter that contains all of the descriptions of their range of mascaras to help you compare them and choose the right product for yourself. Advantages: Volumised and thick lashes Disadvantages: None
I have tried many of cliniquesmascaras such as long pretty lashes mascara, naturallyglossymascara and lash doubling mascara and have written my opinions on them on ciao.
I recently bought Cliniques Full Potential Mascara for £12 at Debenhams and decided to continue my tradition of writing opinions on mascara by writing one on this particular product.
This product is supposed to instantly thicken and lengthen your lashes to their maximum potential, and it certainly does just that. Lashes look thicker, longer, curlier and eyes generally look sexier with just one coat of this mascara.
The staying power of this mascara is also incredible, it lasts the whole night and needs washing off with soap and water to fully remove all traces of it. As a contact lense wearer, this product does not irritate my eyes and does not flake off ...
Advantages: Rich colour Disadvantages: Clumps, lumps and irritating bits in your eyeballs!
better results when using Clinique's NaturallyGlossymascara, which is one you would choose for a natural, simple effect.
This product was a huge disappointment and I can only give it two stars - one for the intense colour and the other for not smudging. I am being generous!
Thanks for reading! :) ...
