I’m not a buyer of Clinique but as my Mum’s a big fan I do tend to use a lot of her products, I do like to wear a lot of eye makeup, especially on a night out so it’s essential that I have a decent eye makeup remover to get rid of my panda eyes. A bottle on my Mum’s dressing table which doesn’t seem to get much use from her is Clinique’s Rinse- Off Eye Makeup Solvent. Although Clinique products are available from many online retailers my Mum prefers to buy in store and she picked this particular product up in Debenhams for £14.50 for a 125ml bottle.

The Claim

“Fast, water-rinsable eye makeup dissolver. For quick makeup changes, repairs. Cleans up eyes easily without disturbing other makeup. No rubbing. No smudging. No oil. Moisten cotton and sweep over eye area and then rinse off with water”.

The Packaging

The makeup remover comes in a stylish bright blue tall bottle with the Clinique logo in black and a silver lid which simply twists off. The bottle has a very high quality/ expensive feel to it, I appreciate this with a product that costs a little bit extra I like it to look good in the bathroom aswell.

How To Use

To use you simply transfer a little of the liquid onto a cotton wool pad and gently move the pad across your eyes, I find this method very effective for removing the bulk of my eye makeup. I also use this product to repair my eye makeup, it’s very annoying if you happen to blink after applying mascara and applying Clinique’s Eye Makeup Solvent to a cotton wool bud allows you to rectify small mistakes easily without ruining any other areas of your make up.

My Experience

Very often I find myself scrubbing at my eyes when I use makeup removal wipes, this is often very painful as my eyes are sensitive at the best of times. I found Clinique’s Eye Makeup Solvent to be very effective; it required no rubbing and almost literally did dissolve the make up from my eyes. It very quickly removed every last trace of my eye makeup with no irritation or sore eyes- I was very impressed! My eyes felt very refreshed afterwards and it was obvious that every bit of makeup was gone, the next morning I had no left over mascara circles under my eyes so it did a really good job. I’ve also found that I don’t need to use much to get effective makeup removal, meaning that the bottle lasts for absolutely ages.

Overall

Overall, I have been very impressed with Clinique’s Rinse Off Eye Makeup Solvent, it works perfectly and I use it whenever I’ve been wearing eye makeup, whether it’s just eyeliner or the full works. I know keep this in my room as my Mum wasn’t using it much as she only really wears eye makeup to go out I like to think I’m getting her money’s worth for her. The price is expensive, but it really does last and it’s something I’d go out and buy again and again.
