I brought this foundation from my local Boots store. This was on the recommendation from one of the staff according to my skin type (dry/combination). I paid £17.50 which I believe is still the current price for this product, although I am sure that you can get this cheaper if you shop around.
However, I found twice that I needed to return to Boots in order to have the colour changed as the staff had recommended the wrong shade to me. I believe that this is no fault of the product and is simply due to the fact that I have very pale skin and the lighting in the store is not particularly good.
The packaging of the product was good. It came in the trademark green box and was instantly identifiable as a Clinique product. It was well packaged and easy to carry home safely. The bottle itself is glass and is fairly thick which suggests to me that the bottle is likely to withstand a lot of wear and tear. Is has a simple silver screw top lid which looks nice.
The product is called superbalanced foundation as it is recommended for many different skin types and is particularly good for combination skin. I have mainly dry skin, which some oily patches. I have often found that some foundations can make me feel oily around the nose and T-zone area, whilst being dry and flaky in others. I have to say that this foundation was the answer to my problems!
It glides on well and provides a good level of coverage. The dry areas of my skin felt moisturised, whilst the oily parts felt fine too. My only minor criticism is that it can come off onto clothes a little too easily for my liking, but this is easily solved by adding some pressed power to 'set' the foundation. Whilst wearing this I have been told that my complexion looks even and clear which I don't think I have ever been told before!
When it comes time to remove the foundation, it comes off easily with most types of cleaners and/or make up removers. I have had no kind of reaction which this product- I have sensitive skin and it seems fine to me which no problems.
Although it does seem expensive this bottle has lasted me a long time and I am very happy with it. As I mentioned before, it is quite hard to match the colour (or for me it was anyway!) so I would recommend trying it in store and then wearing it home and checking in a range of different lights.
