In the past I have tried dozens of different foundations wasting quite alot of money in the process. Although my skin is OK I am conscious of it not being an even tone due to several years working outside in all weathers. I don't work outside so much nowadays but switching from the drying heat of an office to the chill winds of the Shropshire Plains can have a detrimental effect on the complexion.
I finally decided to enter the hallowed halls of the House of Fraser one morning, and approached a rather solumn, overly made up lady in a white coat at the clinique counter to see what she could suggest. I usually try to avoid these sorts of places in case I get persuaded to purchase more than I can afford but that day I was feeling strong.
The lady in white sat me down on a stool and asked numerous questions on my skin type and lifestyle. She decided I had skin Type II, I'm not quite sure if this is good or bad but it pointed her in the direction of a foundation called Superfit.
Various little bottles were lined up on the counter before me and with a cotton bud ( they don't seem to keen to touch the great unwashed public, these people in white) she applied several different stripes across my face in varying different shades of beige. I was getting a little worried that I might get stared at when I walked out looking like a beige zebra.
Anyway, we both decided on a shade called Neutral and I took a sample home for a two day trial. Later in the week, happy with the results I returned and made the lady in white's day by making a purchase. I left without being persuaded to buy something else to qualify for a free gift, so I was very chuffed with myself
The foundation comes in a small, plastic 30ml bottle with a silver lid and a small nozzle which is easy to control - it won't spill all over the place and lasts, for me, about 4 months. The price is £17.00 which I think is OK for a product of such good, longlasting quality.
It comes in twelve shades Petal, Bare, Neutral, Cream, Honey, Caramel, Healthy, Beige, Golden Beige, Nutmeg, Almond and Golden. It is smooth to apply and blends very easily giving a medium coverage and a natural appearance which lasts around 12 hours and is completely transfer resistant. It is oil free and gives a semi matte finish and is best applied with a clean finger tip. I did not find a need for face powder following application of the foundation. It gave a comfortable feel so I was not at all aware of it and the colour didn't fade.
At night the foundation came of easily with my normal cream cleanser, did not clog my pores and didn't leave any marks on clothing or towels. My skin is fairly sensitive, so the allergy tested, no fragrance formula suited me a treat. The only real negative things I can think of with this product is that its lack of moisturisers would make it unsuitable for dry skins and the choice of colours does not really include enough darker colours, so would not be right for ethnic or mediterranean skins.
To sum up, this is a foundation which is extremely good for the price and for which I can find no equal. Just to be sure before you make a purchase, ask the sales assistant ( however intimidating they may seem) for several samples in different shades so you can try them in daylight.

Advantages: Great coverage, lasts long time, flawless look Disadvantages: N/A
...friend of mine swore by Clinique however t thought it was a bit expensive.
I visited Debenhams and told the sales advisor what i was looking for.. a foundation that when applied gives even coverage, that will blend with my skin tone and that will last throughout the day to give a flawless look. She suggested Superfit Make Up.
She tried various shades on my hand and suggested one that she believed would suit my skintone so i decided to take the ... ...for money as sometimes if i am out at night i apply it fresh to i am getting quite a few uses out of it.
Would definitely recommend this product...i won't use anything else now... i even converted my partner into Clinique products and he swears by them too. ...

Advantages: Excellent coverage, blends seamlessly Disadvantages: A bit on the expensive side
...my recent initiation to the Clinique Three Step Skin Care, my face has improved. Following payment of a large chunk of overtime, I was ready to splurge, so back to the Clinique counter I went.
The conversation went a bit like this:
Me: I need a new foundation. As you can see, I have problem skin, so I want something to cover this up without making it worse. Also, I am getting married this year and so need to find exactly the right thing. Clinique ... ...attempts to fully remove!!
Clinique Superfit Foundation costs £17 for 30ml in Debenhams. The packaging is the tradional Clinique floral peach box, and the bottle is flesh coloured plastic, with a silvertone lid and logo. The bottle looks quite solid, but is surprisingly squeezy and the apeture is small enough that you probably wont get this spurting all over your white sofa. My only criticism is that the bottle isn't see through, so it's quite hard ...

Advantages: natural finish, long lasting, great for asian skin Disadvantages: cost
...I decided to give the clinique counter a try. Unlike all the previous times, where I was sat down and colours where applied on me while a felt like a guinea pig, the lady sat me down & asked me a few questions to determine my skin type, and then asked me what I was looking for in a foundation, and what look I wanted to achieve, which I had never been asked before.
One of the first things she said to me was: "I notice you have an uneven skin tone. ... ...darkest colouring on your face, rather than just go for that shade, I am going to try a few shades in between, so that the darker shades will lighten, and your lighter areas will darken and meet in the middle. This way the overall look will be of one skin shade without it looking false."
This was like music to my ears but I was still apprehensive and had my doubts but regardless of this I let her get on with her job.
When the lady had finished ...

Advantages: Feels nice and smooth on the skin Disadvantages: Basically everything - colour and packaging all wrong, expensive
...styled in keeping with the Clinique brand. However, the sloped nozzle looks great but is in reality impractical. It's very difficult to control how much foundation is dispensed and it often just sends excess foundation everywhere. They could really do with changing this.

Assuming you haven't managed to spill foundation everywhere by now, just apply to your face in the normal way - using a brush, sponge or your fingers - to create ... ...--Appearance--
I was amazed that Clinique could get colour so wrong. I bought this foundation as part of a job lot on ebay, and I assumed that 'healthy' would suit most complexions. I was therefore shocked to find that it streaked orange onto my face. I initially thought that it was merely too dark for my skin tone, so I passed it on to my sister, who has a slightly more olivey/yellowish skin tone than I do. She, however, also found it was no good, ...

Advantages: Light, long lasting finish Disadvantages: So popular its often out of stock
I have tried various foundations and a couple of them by Clinique. I actually tried this for the first time about 18 months ago and have gone back to it recently having been lured away when i couldn't get shade no 5 for a while - it seems to be most popular shade. It is long lasting, gives a light glowy finish. I don't like any foundation that is too heavy or drying on the skin. Since i have gone back to this product people have often commented that ... ...As far as coverage goes, I like that it is a little squeezy bottle so you can just put a little on your fingers and work it in. I think it is pretty good value for money as you don't need to reapply it during the day too. ...

Advantages: long lasting, excellent for sensitive skin, good overall coverage Disadvantages: a bit expensive
...I tend to rotate back and forth between three different types of foundation. Mostly my choice is made when one or the other has a free gift on offer with any purchase of cosmetics made by that particular company. One of my favorites is Clinique's Superfit Makeup.
I've been using Clinique for over 20 years now, and I have always been very pleased with their products. When I first started to wear foundation and had very oily skin, there water-based one was the first I ever used.
Now that my skin is a bit dryer and needs better coverage, I use their Superfit Makeup, which has been on the market for a number of years now. I have to use the "Shell" shade, as my skin is very fair.
CliniqueSuperfitMakeup is outstanding. It is excellent for sensitive skin, such as mine. It is hypoallergenic and 100% fragrance free, as stated...

Advantages: Long lasting, good coverage, non-oily Disadvantages: More expensive than I'm used to.
...may as well treat myself to some good stuff. For the wedding of course! I took a trip to Boots (I love that place!) before Christmas to get some presents for my colleagues. On my way past I wandered through Debenhams looking at the premium beauty counters such as Chanel, Estee Lauder & Clinique. I felt a bit intimidated by Debenhams so moved on to Boots. While I was there I notice, OH JOY! The Clinique Counter has an offer. 800 extra reward points with every 3 products purchase!
That sold it to me! I spoke to the Clinique lady and told her I'd been recommended SUPERFIT by makeup artists on a make up advice message board. I said I wasn't sure what colour I would need. She did me a colour match & recommended a powder and concealer. I told her about the wedding and she suggested I go back for a makeover. I think I will! So I purchased my 3...

Advantages: Long lasting, non greasy, matte finish Disadvantages: Quite expensive, the box seems a bit old for me.
...Earlier this year I spent six weeks in hospital and since then I have looked shocking, so I thought it was probably time to start looking after myself. So yesterday I hit the shops with £50 (just don't tell my partner!) to spend on makeup.
I knew just where to head first - the Clinique counter in Boots. My main aim was to get a new foundation which covers my dull complexion and lasts all day. I headed towards the range to be greeted by a fresh faced lady offering assistance. Her skin looked great so I immediately had great faith in her! I told her what I was looking for and she recommended the superfit range for me as my skin is dry but greasy in places. Before she did this she took the time to explain the three other foundations available at the counter so I was satisfied that I had made the right choice. I was really pleased...
