Clinique Take The Day Off eye make up remover really is something special, so excuse the rather corny title, but I just couldn't help myself!!
Like many women I have tried numerous eye makeup removers in my lifetime of makeup wearing, which is about 10 years to date! Unfortunately for me though, I take after my mother and have very sensitive eyes. This can be a good thing when dreaming into your lovers eyes somehow it's a good thing - however, when it comes to day to day living its not such a good point! Makeup to one side everything seems to irritate these gorgeous blue eyes of mine from cats to horses, you name it if it has fir it will irritate my eyes! I can't even conceive the thought of wearing contact lenses.
And so to the sensitive subject of makeup. Even some mascara I'm allergic to. As a result the removal of any eye makeup has to be as gentle as the makeup that I'm wearing. I have tried them all from NO7 to Simple (which irritated the most) I stumbled across Clinique Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover on a holiday to Cyprus some years ago. I was mooching around duty free and, being a girl, ended up in the perfume and makeup section. I had tried Clinique before and continue to do so - on a major scale now - You name it in the range and I have it in my bathroom!! However the one thing I had never tried, till then, was their eye makeup remover. Partly due to that fact that its quite expensive compared to others on the market and only being a 'basic' item in the bathroom that you don't think will make much effect to your beauty-ness its not really an item you would spend over £10 on, and neither would I normally. Being so tired, though, of red and irritated eyes from cheaper removers I decided to take the plunge and pay for it. Am I ever glad I did! Within one use the redness virtually disappeared and my eye looked fresh and clean again. It truly was magic in a bottle!

Applying it is very simple, just like other eye makeup removers. Shake the bottle well to combine the two ingredients and put a small amount in a cotton wool pad or ball (or loo roll if you've run out of cotton wool!) and gently remove the makeup from the eye including lashes of course. This one (the purple bottle) can be used for waterproof mascara and eye shadow which I use everyday so it's essential it can do this. You can also use it on the lips,
which I have done many times. On nights out I use a lip-coat or other times an 'anti-wear off' lip gloss which is very stubborn to get off with water or any other cheaper remover. This stuff though, takes it all in its stride and gently yet very effectively removes any trace of makeup or lipstick for you with great ease.
I always remove the eye makeup and mascara before I wash my face, therefore I can rinse off any residue remover which is quite oily.
Once you put some on a cotton wool pad and gently run it over your eyes you start to understand why its so expensive! With one or two simple swipes it can completely remove all trace of makeup.
It does leave my eyes slightly greasy feeling and looking but this doesn't bother me because I always wash my face afterwards and never try to apply makeup on top of it without washing the residue off first.
All in all it perfectly removes all forms of makeup that you want it to do and I worth every penny of it.
I can highly recommend it to anyone and especially those who have sensitive eyes at all.

You can buy Clinique in many places these days however, I buy mine online which gives me cashback and sometimes a nice bonus!! From Clinique direct it is £11.50 a bottle and this applies to most online shops as they mostly use Clinique.co.uk for the prices on their sites. It can be bought from many online retailers and many high street stores alike. The price will vary slightly however the price will be at around £11 a bottle. Not cheap I admit, but nothing Clinique make is cheap but damn it its worth every penny!!
