There was an offer in all Clinique counters that anyone could go, for free, to a Clinique counter, take a test to see what skin type you are and get a free trial size pack of the soap, clarifying lotion and dramatically different moisterising lotion suited to their skin type. So I thought " why not?" and headed down to my nearest Clinique counter. I found out I was a skin type 3 which meant I got a facial soap ( oily formula), clarifying lotion 3 and dramatically different moisterising lotion. The soap lasted for ages nowever I felt it did not clean or get that deep. It also made my spots more red but did leave my skin feeling fresh and invigorated. The skin around my nouth thouhg felt a bit dry. The clarifying lotion was very refreshing and removed excess dirt and dead skin cells makin my skin glow. But this did not last long as the clarifying lotion bought up all my spots. I remember I had a massive blackhead- it was disgusting.And normally I never ever get blackheads.I stuck with the clarifying lotion but my skin never cleared up. It also made my skin feel dry and tight- probably because of the amount of alchahol in it. After a while though, my skin reacted my producing even more oil. So I was thinking " Wow! Cliniques great" by the end of this.Yeah, right. And the moisteriser- it was thick and hydrating and left my skin looking bright and healthy however was too thick and left it a bit greasy.

I suffer from occasional spots and I used their anti-blemish solutions which worked well for me. Maybe the regular formulations are no good for spot prone skin.

I found the moisturizer to be a runny gloop! Other than that the 3 step system is great for my skin
