Having tried a few Clinique products and being left disappointed that they didn’t work as well as I’d expected, I’ve always avoided, despite many attempts by several friends to ‘convert’ me, trying the Clinique 3 Step System. I finally gave in however, when one of said friends bought me a 3 Step Gift Set for Christmas. She knows I have oily/spot prone skin, and so she got me the set for skin types 3 and 4, which is for normal to oily/oily skin. The 3 Step System, for anyone who doesn’t know consists of, you guessed it, 3 steps, as follows: Step 1: Cleanse (Facial Soap or Liquid Facial Soap), Step 2 : Tone (Clarifying Lotion), Step 3 : Moisturise (Moisturising Lotion or Gel). My step 1 is the Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula.
Clinique’s Liquid Facial Soap is priced at £13 for a 200ml bottle, or £15 for 3 50ml tubes which would be ideal for taking on holiday etc. if you’re a fan of travelling light. They can be bought direct from the Clinique website, from a Clinique counter (of which there are many, situated more often then not in Department Stores such as Debenhams, John Lewis, Boots etc.), or online from one of several discounted beauty retailers. I’d also suggest looking on Ebay if you’ve never used the product before, as many people sell Gift With Purchase size Clinique products which allows you to try the product before splashing out on the full size version.
As already mentioned, the cleanser comes in either a tube or a bottle, depending on the amount it contains. The tubes are your basic squeezy tube with a screw-on lid, in Clinique’s signature green colours. The bottles are a translucent green colour, allowing you to see how much cleanser you have left, and have a pump-action top, which dispenses just the right amount. The bottle shows the name of the product and which skin types it’s for on the front, and a brief description on the back.
The information on the back of the bottle reads as follows: ‘3-Step skin care: Step 1. Liquid facial soap Oily Skin Formula. Combination Oily to Oily. Types 3,4. Clinically formulated. Allergy tested. 100% Fragrance free. Thorough cleansing developed by Clinique’s dermatologists for the needs of skin comfortable inn the cheeks/oily in the T-Zone, or oily all over. Leaves skin feeling fresh and clean. Non-drying. Use twice daily.’
Now, I have very sensitive skin, and tend to have severe reactions even to fragrance free, hypoallergenic, and sensitive skin formulas, but I can honestly say I’ve never had any kind of reaction or even discomfort from using a Clinique product.
The cleanser itself is a colourless liquid-gel type consistency, which has no detectable scent until lathered. When applied to a damp face, the liquid creates quite a fine lather, which is then easily massaged over the entire face. The scent is not strong or unpleasant, and could be described as simply fresh and clean. The cleanser is then easily rinsed off with a splash or 2 of warm water.
I completely agree with the statement that this stuff leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean, and it certainly doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or tight (which many cleansers for oily skin can do). The effects seem to last well, and my skin feels clean, fresh, and most importantly, not at all greasy, all day.
When it comes to long term effects, I’m afraid I can’t really say how well this cleanser fares on it’s own, as I’ve been using it along with the other 2 steps from the 3 Step system. What I can say is that used along with the other products, this has made a marked improvement to the condition of my skin. I’ve found products before which help keep my adult acne under control, but there’s always been some kind of adverse effect like dry, flaky skin for instance, but using the 3-Step System, I’ve been able to keep it under control without having to sacrifice anything else.
I’ve now been using the 3 Step system for nearly 5 months and my skin is clearer, and more comfortable than ever. I really wanted to say I didn’t get on with this product, but I have to admit, I’m totally converted! I started using my 200ml bottle at New Year and I’m just getting to the last bits now, so it’s lasted ages, making it well worth the price, and I‘ll be stocking up as soon as it runs out. I’m so glad my friend bought me this, but don’t tell her that!
Advantages: Cleanses skin really well Disadvantages: None
I came across Clinique Liquid facial soap quite unintentionally. I had popped down to my local department store as I had run out of my favourite foundation. When purchasing the sales assistant informed me that it was Clinique bonus time. (By buying two or more Clinique products I would be entitled to a free Clinique gift bag) Never one to pass on a special offer of the shopping variety I had a browse round the Clinique concession and found there ... ...find, This happened to be Clinique Liquid facial soap...
Clinique liquid facial soap forms part of the famous Clinique 3 step skin care system. The dermatologists at Clinique believe it is essential that everyone Cleanses, Tones and Moisturises.
Liquid facial soap is part one the cleanser, Part two is the toner and part three the moisturiser. I'm not the most disciplined of people so tend to just stick to the Cleanse and Moisturise steps.

...face. About Clinique
Clinique is one of the world's leading brands of skin care, makeup and fragrance products. For those of us that don't use Clinique, there is a good chance that your mum, aunt, sister, cousin or maybe even your brother does.
Clinique started almost 50 years ago in 1968 and has been recognised world-wide for its products, each developed and approved by Clinique's leading Dermatologists. All Clinique products areallergy-tested ... ...It is worth mentioning that Clinique also do a facial soap bar which claims not to ever dry. I haven't tried this so cannot venture an opinion in this instance.
How to use
Using warm water, lather a small amount of the liquid soap between palms. Massage lather over face and throat before rinsing it off and patting the skin dry with a clean towel.
Packaging
I would be suprised to hear someone wouldn't recognise Clinique if they saw it, but for ...

INTRO!!
Clinique are a fairly upmarket brand designed for sensitive skin as it is allergy tested and 100% fragrance free. Its a no frills no fuss brand, its all about the skincare, not about gaudy bright packaging or celebrity endorsement. Clinique sells on word of mouth as it is a well respected brand known for getting good results.

I dont have especially bad skin, a little oily, a few spots now and then and large pores, but I wouldnt call it 'problem' skin. The great thing about Clinique is that they have specialist counters in larger department store such as Selfridges, Debanhams and even Boots, where helpful staff will help you pick out the Clinique products that suit your skin. They will ask you a few questions ...

Advantages: Cleans face without drying and lasts for ages Disadvantages: none
Well clinique describe this product as having all the benefits of Clinique's facial soap in a liquid formula. It is supposed to prep skin for exfoliating without drying the skin and it comes in 3 different strenghts, these are - extra mild, mild and oily and you choose the one which is best suited to your skin type which can either be dry, a combination of oily and dry or very oily, the bottle has a convenient pump that dispenses just the right amount ... ...I have found all this information to be completely true unlike some products that i have tried in the past which tend to bend the truth a bit to sell there products for eg. clearasil who say that your spots will start to go in just 3 days of using there products is a complete lie anyway back to clinique, the product is fragrance free which is good as you can tell there are no perfumes added which could irritate the skin and also it means that is ...

Advantages: Doesn't dry out skin Disadvantages: A little expensive
I bought this Cliniqueliquidfacialsoap after I was given some Boots vouchers for Christmas. I decided to go for the 'mild' version of the soap since it was suitable for dry combination skin. This was really good for me, since I sometimes find that when I use soaps or face washes that my skin feels quite dry and flaky afterwards, as my skin can dry out quite easily. I didn't find that after using this face wash so I was really pleased.
The soap is available to buy in sets of 3 x 50ml sizes, so they are easy to carry around and good if you wanted to take them on holidays. The set of 3 x 50ml tubes costs £15 (these do work out more expensive but I guess they could be quite handy!) It also comes in a 200ml size for £13 and a 'jumbo' size for £20, which is a 400ml bottle.
The Cliniqueliquidfacialsoap is widely available online but ...

Advantages: Cleanses without drying Disadvantages: None
I have always preferred a soap and water approach to washing my face as opposed to a cream cleanser but as I have got older my skin has become much drier and so I began searching the internet to try and find something which would cleanse without drying. I had read a lot about Clinique and it's 3 step regime of skincare of cleanse, clarify and moisturise so decided to give it a try.
There was a Clinique stand at my local department store which to my delight had a special offer on of buy one full size product from the 3 step range and get the other two as free samples. Always one for a bargain I thought that'll do me!
The Clinique assistant told me she would ask me 8 questions about my skin and the answers would be fed into a computer which would then determine which products would be best suited to my skin.
