INTRO!!
Clinique are a fairly upmarket brand designed for sensitive skin as it is allergy tested and 100% fragrance free. Its a no frills no fuss brand, its all about the skincare, not about gaudy bright packaging or celebrity endorsement. Clinique sells on word of mouth as it is a well respected brand known for getting good results.
I got this stuff in a christmas package along with a few other clinique products, and I have very quickly become addicted to the stuff! There is a general idea that soap is very bad and drying on your skin, but this is Clinique and quality is what its all about!
I dont have especially bad skin, a little oily, a few spots now and then and large pores, but I wouldnt call it 'problem' skin. The great thing about Clinique is that they have specialist counters in larger department store such as Selfridges, Debanhams and even Boots, where helpful staff will help you pick out the Clinique products that suit your skin. They will ask you a few questions to decided your skin type based on its colour, how easily you tan, how large your pores are, and how oily your skin is.
It comes in a very sleek and simple green pump dispenser 200ml bottle. It has the silver clinique logo and various details such as the type of skin it is designed for in several different languages. I really love the packaging, it looks so expensive and classy, not bright or cheap at all.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
As directed: With tepid water, lather soap between palms. Massage lather over face and throat. Rinse off. Pat skin dry. Use twice daily.
RESULTS
Well what can I say, this stuff in brilliant! Used just on its own it cleanses skin wonderfully and leaves it feeling smooth and clean, although it can feel a little tight, this may however mean it isnt quite the right formulation for my skin. The general tone of my skin is better and more even, my skin feels soft and the shine around my t zone is completely gone, although I still get a bit of a shiny nose!
The stuff doesnt smell especially great, just a plain soap smell which is good in a way as it shows it doesnt contain any perfumes which would be harsh on sensitive skin. The best thing about Clinique products is that they dont contain any unecessary chemicals for smell or colour which do nothing for your skin except irritate it and make it worse. It is very gentle on the skin with no stinging, and I do have fairly sensitive skin that breaks out in a rash with several products.
Normally I use this with my regular nivea cream moisturise but I know that this is actually one of the few products that actually does work better with the rest of the ones in the range, as when I tried the cliniqu moisturiser too my skin just looked clear and amazing. I normally think that instructions to use with other products in the range is just to make more money for the company, but in this case I do recommend it.
It isnt only the department stores with counters that you can get this from. Larger superdrug shops stock it and obviously there are a million places on the internet to get it from. It costs around £14 which is more expensive than the bar soap but I feel its worth it to get the sleek bottle and pump dispenser, plus the liquid foams up so nice on the face.
I know £14 is a bit much for a face soap but it really does make a difference and also the stuff lasts for absolutely AGES. I have used this every day since christmas and you can barely even tell any of it has been used as the bottle still looks practically full.
For more information or to order you can get it from www.clinique.com!!!!
