******The Product******
These mini bath mats come in packs of 6, and they are what they state - mini! You definitely need all 6 to make them worthwhile and Ive found it best to put them all next to one another, though Im getting a little ahead of myself here.
I have done two tests on these mats, the first with my baby daughter and the second with my clumsy husband!
******Baby Test******
Our seven month old daughter loves the 'big bath' over her baby bath. She adores water and bubbles and we have taken her in many times with us, 'swimming' her back and forth alongside washing her, though I have always got extremely cold as her water needs to be a lot cooler that I like so we went back to bathing her in the baby bath again, though she wasn't happy. We looked into bath seats as my nephew has one though they are very expensive for what they are and they slid around a lot as the suction wears off easily. Then my friend offered us this spare pack.
As evening time came, my husband got our daughter ready for the bath as I easily slid these out of the pack and placed all six mats at the end of the bath away from the taps. I pushed down on each one to allow the suction cups to stick before running the water. I half expected the suction cups to come loose as the water took a hold and filled the bath, though all six stayed firmly in place as the water flowed over them.
Now it was time to test them with our baby. It isn't the most easiest to hold a wriggling baby over the side of the bath, especially when they insist that they want to stand up as my daughter always does, hence the worry of slipping, though as we put her in she put her feet straight on the mats, a funny inquisitive look on her face with this new texture, and did not slip at all!
As we sat her down, it seemed that these mats were working well. She wasn't slipping at all and it made holding onto her and washing her alot easier.
And then came the problem
Although these mats were withstanding the water rush and my daughter sitting on them, they did not withstand the pull of my daughters little hands as she decided they looked even more fun to play with than her bath toys. One by one she pulled them off with ease and started waving them around. Luckily the ones she was sitting on did not get pulled up, though if your baby or child wriggles and moves a lot more then perhaps these too will come up. They did keep her entertained while I washed her hair, though defying the point as a bath mat!
******Husband Test******
My husband is extremely clumsy and a couple of times slipped when getting in the shower so as we had these mats I thought I would try them with him as well as our daughter.
They were easy to pull off and move from one side of the bath to the other and easy to re-stick near the shower end, sticking onto the bath as good as before.
My husband said that although he didn't think they were necessary for him (I know better!!) they did not slide from under him when in the shower and stayed firmly in place and were comfortable to stand on unlike some bath mats.
******Clean Test******
These mats are very easy to take off of the bat and wipe clean with any residue or dirt coming off straight away from the smooth texture. They stick back on the bath good as new after cleaning.
******Costs******
Unlike a lot of safety equipment for babies and children (and adults!) these are extremely cheap at only £2.75. You can probably find these even cheaper at other places. These are sold at many online stores as well as in stores such as Boots and Tescos.
******Final Word******
I would certainly recommend these if wanting a bath mat for either baby/child or adult. They are definitely non-slip and easily cleanable and removable. So far they have lasted quite a while and still as good as new. The cost is wonderful and they work as well as other bath mats. They are comfortable though can be slightly irritating as it becomes bumpy with the gaps between each one though for this price you can't complain.
The only downside is that they do not withstand a baby pulling at them!
Advantages: safe, nice, easy to use Disadvantages: may be pulled up!
...ones!
I saw these Clippasafe mini bath mats and thought they looked so much nicer and decided to give them a go and see if they would work okay for us and if they would be fun for our baby too!
The bath mats come in packets of 6 and they are mini which means you do need to use them all so that they are actually useful else they're just not worth it! They stick onto the bath easily and they really do help support your baby- baby Hope sits still ... ...with the toys!
They look so nice and friendly with their seaside shapes and their pastel colours. They are so much more attractive to look at than the boring plain white ones...however, the fact that they are attractive means that Baby Hope also thinks this so spends a lot of time trying to pull them up! She's always trying to get her fingers beneath the plastic and peel them up. Luckily she is too little to manage this at the moment but I do think ...
