Clippasafe Standard Baby Harness and Rein

I was going to put off buying a harness and rein set till I was in town and could have a real look around as to what was on offer.

However as it happened my mother-in-law picked us up a high chair, you know the type the one with the chair and table. As it was it was missing any sort of harness to help keep a child safe whist feeding or shall I say feeding the floor. As it only cost £5 for the high chair I wasn't too unhappy but I would have preferred to find one myself that had all its parts.

So it was off to our local chemist to see if they had any baby harnesses and reins in stock.

The only one the did was your basic standard harness and rein for the price of £5.99 (I remember when these were much cheaper and better made).

I thought the price was a little on the steep side but has it was for safety reason for my purchase, I had not choice but to grudgingly depart with my cash.

When I got home I removed the harness from the packaging to have a closer look at them. The contents consisted of the harness, the rein and two small straps so that you could attach the harness to an highchair linked to the D rings.

The harness is designed for babies from 4 months and up to the age of a 4 year old child, that is a guide as each child's build is different.

As for colour, they were navy blue with green stripes, I would have liked to see a wider range of colours as I could have imagined that on a girl these would have looked very boyish. Luckily we purchased ours for a boy so that wasn't too much of an issue.

Attaching them to the high chair was easy as you slip the small straps through the D rings and pop the end of it through the loop at the end of the small strap. You the clip the harness to the ends of the straps, it is then held in place by the plastic catches.

As the harness is fully adjustable around the waist and shoulders you should be able to have peace of mind that your child is secure and comfortable.

I did say should, didn't I. Well as for comfort they couldn't have been too bad as John never winged or moaned. It is a whole different story when it came to his safety. As I was feeding John he tugged his self towards me when the catch that was keeping the harness attached to his body snapped making him hit his mouth against the table giving himself a fat lip. It wasn't like he had put much pressure or strain on these either. The plastic catches must have been made by such a week material as this was only the 3rd time that these had been used in his highchair. It is just lucky that the chair was low to the ground and not placed on the table as it could have been far more damage caused.

If I can find my receipt I shall be sending these back to Clippasafe with a letter of disgust.
