Tea is literally “Not my Cup Of Tea” until I had a taste of Clipper’s Organic Assam Tea.

Personally I am a coffee man and a Nescafe one at that. The tea drinkers in my family are my wife and my mother and it was because of the former that I had the opportunity of experiencing this particular brand of tea.

On the odd occasion that I have had tea previously it has always been Lipton’s be it here or on my travels in other parts of the world. I cannot say that I love tea but what I can say is that I am tolerant to it and sometimes enjoy the cooling effect, which is unlike coffee that instead heats you up.

So back to the part where I first had a taste of Clipper’s Organic Assam Tea. I had been noticing that my wife had suddenly gone into this organic thing and it was mentioned a couple of times during our evening conversations. At the time I paid little attention to it since it really had little use to me. However my whole outlook on this drink has changed somewhat after having my first cup of this excellent tea.

Assam is a state in North Eastern part of India. This area is where most of the Indian tea is produced. What makes Clipper’s Assam tea different from the others is that it first and foremost it is organic.

What this means is that no pesticides or chemicals are used whatsoever. The tea grows in its natural state and grows only with the help of nature. For the crop to be healthy the soil must be in perfect condition. The emphasis is therefore placed on making sure that the soil is fertile and this is done by using only natural fertilizers like compost, which is made up, in part, of the tea leaves themselves and weeds and other natural elements.

This ensures that the tea produced is of an exceptionally high quality and are totally natural. Clippers have even made sure that the actual teabags are made of non-bleached material and this guarantees you a natural and extremely healthy product.

I would like to point out that some of the above information was obtained from Clippers Website.

Now I will like to share with you my appraisal of the tea itself.

The tea is very different than the usual tea that I have tasted before. The taste is a somewhat malty one and it tastes very strong. However it does not have any adverse aftertaste that is normally associated with strong teas (as was the case when I put two sachets of Lipton in a single cup sometime ago).

The colour of the tea is also very reddish and bright (when dissolved in water) and this is another difference from the other teas, which are more on the darker side and dull in appearance.

As mentioned earlier I am not a fan of tea but if there is one tea that I can boast that I do like then it has to be this one.

Clippers also have other varieties of Organic Tea and I have been made to understand that they have now started an Organic Coffee. This I will most certainly try because of it tastes half as good as there tea then it will suit me just fine.

A box of the Organic Assam Tea goes for around £1.50 a box in most health shops aswell as other major chain shops like Sainsbury’s. This is an exceptional price for an exceptional product.

So if you like your tea strong and naturally healthy then Organic Assam Tea is the right one for you or possibly one of the other organic tea varieties.
