Light up my life (or my fags at least!)

AdvantagesReliable

DisadvantagesNone

"...I do like a nice Clipper though, and this is Mark's lighter of choice as he appreciates the fact that they are refillable so he can save on buying cheap disposable lighters. They're available in a variety of colours including black, but these colours don't seem to update from one decade to the next and I can't think of a single patterned or special edition design that's ever been available from the Clipper brand. A lighter obviously isn't a fashion ..." Read review

Sometimes basic is best

AdvantagesReliable

DisadvantagesThey get lost easily

"...with no fancy gimmicks~=== A Clipper lighter is a pretty basic looking thing, it has no fancy extras added on for good measure, these lighters do come in a variety of colors, I always seem to end up with a bright color as I do tend to lose them quite often and if it's a bright color I think I will have a better chance of finding it. I always seem to be buying these even though they are refillable and I do have gas with which to refill them with. ..." Read review

Put Your Lighters Up

Advantagesworks well

Disadvantagesexpensive to loose

"...used to opt for the clipper lighters all the time when I needed to purchase a lighter from a newsagents but now this is not really the case. These lighters main selling point is the fact that they are re-fillable. They cost a bit more money than buying a disposable lighter but both the gas and flint can be replaced easily. At an average price of £1, these Clipper lighters can be found in most shops which sell cigarettes and the like. They ..." Read review

It's not big and it's not clever

AdvantagesGood quality, refillable, replaceable flints, reliable

DisadvantagesExpensive these days, refilling gas & flint is a bit of a palaver!

"...I used to always buy Clipper lighters, instead of the disposable ones. I liked that they were refillable and that you could replace the flint as during those years I was also a little less taxed in time and I used to decorate lighters with names, stickers, glitter and paint, for myself and my friends. I would get _very_ upset if someone pocketed my Clipper! I'm sure most people will know what a Clipper looks like; they are around 3 inches tall, and ..." Read review

Clipper lighters

AdvantagesNice design, refillable

DisadvantagesExpensive if you lose them

"...cost around the £1 mark. Clipper lighters are available in a whole range of colours and at one point, I think I had about 10 lighters all in different colours. The lighter itself just about the size of the palm of my hand. At the top is the lighting mechanism, the wheel that you need to press and the pad which releases the gas. The body of the lighter is rounded unlike other lighters which have hard, straight edges and this makes it more comfortable ..." Read review
