I was so looking forward to reading this book, it appeared on best seller listings and the author recommended by friends. I am sorry to say the book did not live up to my expectations. I was frankly taken aback by the foul language, I found myself trying to read the book by missing out the swear words which was not easy as every other word was a swear word. I am not a prude, nearly all the books I read have an element of bad language but htis one has surpassed any I have ever read before. However, I persevered, the plot was very thin and not particulary interesting, I would not recommend this book to a friend, I normally pass around books between a circle of friends, this one went straight to the charity shop.

The language in all her books is rather near the mark, but I guess I've got kind of used to it now. I agree the plot was rather thin on this one, but maybe you could add a bit more on the storyline and characters in "Close" to your review? It would make your review more helpful to a consumer who hasn't yet read this novel, and wants to make a purchasing decision. Lexy
