There are so many negative reviews on plumbers I thought I would add a positive one for a change.
I have just had electric central heating installed by a firm called Clwyd Heating and I have to say I would recommend this company to anyone living in the North Wales/ Chester/Warrington areas.
This company was established in 1988 and was also register with Corgi in the same year. They have since registered with OFTEC and are members of the Association of Plumbing and Heating Engineers and Construction Line. The company has built up a very good reputation in the North Wales area over the past 20 years and is run from a warehouse with separate offices in Rhyl. They carry out a wide range of plumbing and heating related works including new builds, renovation of listed building, commercial installations and repairs, domestic plumbing and heating, service and maintenance of boilers, fires, cookers, heater and other gas appliances, oil heating installation, service and repair contracts on gas systems.
My Experience
I wanted to replace my storage heaters with a more efficient user friendly central heating system. I didn't want gas nor oil because of the placement of the tanks necessary for these systems. I contacted Clwyd Heating to ask if they did Electrical Central Heating to be informed that they are agents in the area for Ariston Electrastream and their sales representative made and appointment to discuss the product with me.
I was very impressed by the professionalism of the representative who measured each room, tested the water pressure and took time with me to explain the system to be installed and the actual installation. He didn't over burden me with jargon and answered my questions thoroughly. He said I would have a quote by Friday that week and I did. The quote laid down exactly what was to be done and included literature on all the products involved including , the electastream system, radiators and thermostat. No pressure was given whatsoever. Having received quotes from 2 other firms in the area I then contacted Clwyd Heating to see when they could do the work. On the day they started the representative arrived with 2 plumbers and an electrician and they were introduced to me and shown around the property. I was then told the plan for each day.
Day 1 - take out all the storage heater and install all the new radiators Day 2 - install all the piping and the Electrastream boiler Day 3 - electrician to wire everything together.
The plumbers and the electrician were true professionals. They were efficient, hardworking and very considerate taking care to lay down worksheets in the rooms to walk on and tidying up and hoovering after each day to leave the place clean and tidy. On the final day the representative returned to check the work and the system. He showed me how to work the programmable thermostat etc;
I was the given the guarantees, and certificates for the electrical and plumbing. I cannot stress enough how pleased I was with the work done and the installation team. I would definitively recommend them to anyone who wants any plumbing or heating work done. A truly professional organization with a highly qualified team of plumbers and electricians.
