    laid back ruby...CALIFORNIA RUBY CABERNET Wine of USA California 2004 I have tried to write a review on this wine four times up to now. I've been through three bottles ...on three separate occasions and each time I've just enjoyed it without actually writing anything. So here goes...     Sorry this was meant to be under North American Wines. Trying to get it moved Lidl sells lots of wines and after some enjoyable and not so enjoyable research; we tend to stick to the Baywood Ruby cabernet. There are other cheap places to buy wine in the Algarve but as we do lots of shopping in Lidl we also pick up the wine bargains there. Our favourite at the moment has to be the consistent Baywood Ruby cabernet. (for as long as Lidl stocks it) Taste notes: A 12.5 % full bodied red wine.     Disadvantages Disadvantages No directions on how long to keep it in cellars.

    I respect the California wines a lot. It seems that this place is somewhat like the Mediterranean. Some whines smells the sea and the red fruits we find in South Europe. 'Baywood' has some good labels although Ruby is not the best one it is a very good choice for the everyday wine taking in account its low price. In Greece we taste a lot of wines with the same quality and aromas but we have to pay for them double and even more. Ruby is one of my favorite red wine and I keep some bottles for the near future in my cellar. Also the 'Zifandel' Rose is one good choice, although it is a little bit ... more
