Trains journeys are dull. Reading passes time well, but I soon run out of books. Portable DVD player. Thats a good way to pass London-Gatwick and vice-versa. Two episodes of family guy fills the time nicely, just need to make sure I keep a good hold on it when we're stopped at Croydon.
So. I wanted a DVDplayer with a fair size screen that wouldn't break the back. Lots of searching around ebay narrowed it down to a select few, then I just went for the cheapest out of the bunch that was delivered from inside the uk.
Features. Plenty of. Its got a decent 7 inch screen, backlit. The picture is sharp and theres no slowdown or ghost. Multi region is possible, but not as standard - you need to do the following.
Press SET UP Press FF ( >> ), FB ( << ), Next( >>1 ), Previous key (1<< ) Region code shows up Change the code to 255 using right Arrow.
That was contributed by Coby tech support, so top marks for the company there.
The sound is very good, loud and clear. It also has two headphone jacks, which is good if you have friends.
Battery life is reasonable, I think about 3-4 hours, although I've never watched it for this long continuously. It does run the battery down if its turned off with the battery attached, so I always remove the battery when I'm not using it. A spot annoying, but enough to make me break through the apathy barrier and do something.
All in all, I'm very happy with it. Highly recommend it to anyone in the market for one, and let me know if yours still runs down the battery like mine. Or if the little lid over the DVD opens fully on pressing the button.
