₪ Bucking the Star Coffee Bean ₪
Review of Starbucks Cafe Estima whole bean coffee by susie191

Advantages: Smells great, tastes great, perfect finish. Home brew cafe style.
Disadvantages: Caffeine addiction is a terrible thing.

...ground beans from our local Starbucks café. Starbucks do a wide range of whole beans from South America, Africa and the Pacific, a small selection of which include: ₪ Guatemala Antigua; ₪ Ethiopian Sidamo; ₪ Organic Shade Grown Mexico; ₪ Starbucks French Roast (Latin American); ₪ Brazil Ipanema Bourbon; ₪ Sulawesi. There are also blends of coffee including : ₪ Café Estima (the subject of this review); ...
...If you visit any Starbucks café there is usually a display near the counter showing some of the beans available. They vary in colour and flavour (but in fact these displays are not real coffee beans as some poor Ciao reviewer found out to his cost). Starbucks do label their packs of coffee beans with the name of the beans and they are categorised as Mild, Smooth or Bold. However it can still be a little bewildering unless you are a bean connoisseur. ... Read review

Fancy a coffee old bean
Review of Whittard's Coffee Beans by madamois_elle

Advantages: Freshly ground, available in small quantities
Disadvantages: A bit more expensive than other coffees

I am normally a tea drinker but there’s something about the smell of freshly ground, freshly brewed coffee, isn’t there? It always makes a home feel, well, homely. I was passing Whittard a couple of weeks ago and the enticing dark, smoky aroma drew me in. I think that’s why Whittard tend to have open-fronted stores in large shopping malls! As I browsed, I noticed an amazing bargain. They were offering the Bodum 8-cup glass “bean” ...
...cost upwards of £30. I couldn’t believe they could afford to sell it at that price and I quickly snapped one up. Having totted up how much money I’ve spent on fresh ground coffee at Whittard since, however, I can see this was an extremely shrewd piece of marketing on their part. I’ve become rather addicted to trying out their wide range of fresh coffee beans, which you can buy in small quantities and have freshly ground on the ... Read review

Elephant Dung
Review of Whittard Guatemalan Rainforest Coban by amyturtle

Advantages: Fabulous deep taste, grinding them fresh, intoxicating smell
Disadvantages: Don't last long so get drinking

...coffee mug and some beans. Whittard of Chelsea Guatemala Elephant coffee beans to be exact, and rather nice they are too. Having graduated to coffee supremo overnight I thought I’d start with strong roast beans. They have various kinds on display in the shop and these smelt particularly fantastic, and besides they sounded cute so what’s a girl to do. The first thing to do with these Arabica beans is get a really good whiff of them. They are rich, ...
...how they will taste. Whittard say they have tones of chocolate and honey which sounds even better and explains the smoothness. The beans themselves are large and look a lot like coffee beans funnily enough! Not like the artificially rounded ones you see on the TV though, REAL coffee beans with an irregular, rough underside and a fantastic uneven dark brown colouring. Sigh. I use mine in my cafetiere, ground down quite fine for maximum taste. These ... Read review

Sainsburys Caffiene kick Colombian beans!
Review of Sainsbury's 100% Columbian Coffee Beans by mints4merlin

Advantages: strong, cheap and easy to use
Disadvantages: not great if you are sensitive to caffiene

COST: £2.25 PLACE OF PURCHASE: Sainsburys WEIGHT: 227g PACKAGING: A resealable brown plastic pouch packaging carries this 227g quantity of Columbian beans. The outside shows pictures of brown coffee beans with a green rectangular label on the front. AROMA: Full bodied and a strong and deep aroma is given off from these Sainsburys own brand 100% columbian coffee beans. Theres nothing quite like a gorgeous sweet yet deep smell of coffee brewing ...
...choice, the cheap skates that we are in the office, is a Sainsburys own brand beans from the coffees of the world range. At only £2.25 a bag, its really good value for monay as this last 4 of us almost a whole month. But mind you, none of us have particularly strong coffees as we're all a bit concious as to the appearance of our tooth colour and sally goes a bit mad on caffiene if she has too much. This resealable bag of the highest quality coffee ... Read review

This one tastes like instant.
Review of Sainsbury's Continental Coffee Beans by toberwine

Advantages: Easy availability.
Disadvantages: Clogs up the coffee machine, bland taste.

...locally, and the only thing Sainsbury's own brand of continental coffee has going for it is that I can buy it easily. It even clogs up the integral grinder in my coffee machine, no matter what coarseness of grind I use! The taste is bland - almost like instant coffee. I really cannot recommend this coffee at all. If you are in Sainsbury's and need to buy coffee buy one of the good brands of ground coffee as it is not the place to buy beans. Why do ... Read review
