...but the noise lets you know its working anyway (lets face it, no grinder is quiet). This is a burr grinder, rather than a blade grinder, so it works like a pepper mill, rather than a liquidiser. I bought this coffee grinder after my cheap blade mill finally gave up. It was expensive (£56) but I had £30 worth of tokens for a well known department store so bought it as I know the name is a good one. The major advantage is that it is a burr mill. This is where the coffee is not in constant contact with blades so the grind is more even so no more of the mix of dust and bigger lumps. ...and use it in my DeLonghi machine, but it looked like a very good grind indeed. I was impressed. I tried the coffee and yes, it tasted better than ground coffee. So, cheers to a nice cup of coffee! However, i was expecting it could fit more into it. If you're doing a party with coffee (Trust me, i would!) 84g isn't much at one time. ...along with other mouldings from DeLonghi products. We have a lot of DeLonghi in our house you see! The mouldings break for them very easilly. But you can replace them at the website, for a price though. Also, cleaning the inside can be an issue. Sometimes i end up mixing beans, which doesxn't lead to a great result.
