So much easier and cleaner than I expected
Advantages: Neat, easy to use, no mess Disadvantages: Short power lead
I accidentally bought some unground coffee beans and borrowed this coffee grinder from a friend so that they weren't wasted. I had always thought that having a coffee grinder would be a real fuss and a pain to clean, but I have been really pleasantly surprised! There's nothing to it really - throw a few beans in the top, press a button, and hey presto. And you can just sort of pour the ground coffee out (though the power lead is a bit short for doing ... ...as well, and would grace any kitchen counter. I'm just about to ask my mum to buy me one of these for my birthday! So the price I've put here is just what I've seen them for on the web - I haven't actually paid anything yet. ...

Grinds more than a nagging wife
Advantages: fast grinder, cheap and cheerful, easy to use Disadvantages: difficult to clean
...end result of using the Bodum 5670 is a cup of coffee that little bit richer and fuller in flavour than any alternatives. It is like drinking Expresso from Starbucks or Café Nero without the huge expense regular visits incur.
Prior to using the Bodum grinder I had a Gaggia grinder that tunred out to be the biggest waste of cash ever. That model cost £70 so when it struggled to grind even the smallest amount of beans in less than 10 minutes I wasn’t ... ...the Bodum because it was £20 and I had seen a few good reviews of its performance.
A little bigger than my Gaggia grinder at 28 x 23 x 20cm it isn’t huge and is about the same size as regular filter coffee makers. Loading and using the Bodum is easy. The beans are placed in the top section, one of 3 grinding speeds is selected and away you go with the ground coffee collected in a separate bin. As far as its sole purpose in life goes the Bodum is ...

For all coffee lovers who want the REAL thing!
Advantages: Fantastic coffee, looks smart, durable, no issues with static. Disadvantages: None. It grinds coffee well. FACT
...home. This is where the Dualit comes in. I have loved coffee since I was very young and now as a twenty three year old it plays an even bigger part of my life! Yes, I am aware that it’s not that healthy to drink that much of the stuff, but at least if you are going to drink it then you want it to taste good! I have owned an espresso machine for a number of years now and more recently I have upgraded to an all in one bean to cup machine, which I shall ... ...to Starbucks who sell the Dualit Burr Grinder, albeit in a starbucks branded guise. It is the same machine and is made by Dualit and retails for £35 compared to the £70 for the actual Dualit branded item. These machines are identical apart from the name. It’s up to you how much of a brand whore you want to be but a 100% increase for a name didn’t seem worth it to me! I purchased the grinder and took it home. Instantly as you remove it from the box ...

Great for spices, great for coffee
Advantages: Modding ability, in/out tray, looks good Disadvantages: Can burn-out if you're not careful, difficult to clean when you need to
I originally bought this as a spice grinder. I now have two of them: one for spices and the other for coffee. As a coffee grinder: It doses what it says on box; it grinds coffee. The grinder allows for the full range of settings from very fine espresso to thick granules for the peculator. If you do a search online, you'll also find, instructions on modifying it so it will grind powder-fine coffee (like the very expensive machines). Be warned though, ... ...are intent on making changes, follow a few guidelines: Never grind for more than 20 seconds at a time and leave a few seconds before grinding again. The instructions for modifying are quite simple (just do a search). don't waste 20 minutes like I did though, trying to get the bottom off; it's the top that comes off exposing the internal settings. I also, imagine that making any changes to the internal operations would void the warranty. Unless you ...

Perfect for Espresso- the Dualit EL60
Advantages: Grinds to a super fine powder for the perfect espresso Disadvantages: Sometimes can't grind enough coffee in one go for a coffee maker.
I bought the Dualit EL60 from "Whittards of Chelsea" in September 2008 to grind coffee beans for my "Gaggia Baby Classic" espresso machine and paid £28 in the end of summer sale.
When making espresso by hand using a machine with a handle, you need to ensure that the coffee grinds are in a fine powder as this lets you can maximise the crème layer on your espresso. Being aware of this I quizzed the assistants in both Whittards and my local speciality ... ...of any specific environmental concerns Dualit may have with their packaging but I recall being able to recycle the entire packaging except for one tiny plastic bag, through my council provided recycle box- something I like as a "green-as-possible" consumer
Having used my coffee machine and hence this grinder to make my espresso's every day for approximately six months or so now I can confirm this machine is reliable and does not appear to have blunted ...
