Even if you open the lid and look inside, you can't see how much liquid is in the thing as the coffee drum is located at the top. Who knows, with all that heat, p'raps the air inside this bubble will expand enough to bust through the weakened bobble and shoot scalding coffee all over the place in a pretty, swirling fountain of boiling brown stuff. This is a great looking very effective, solid, semi-industrial look coffee machine. Easy to use relaible and foolproof. Uses disposable filter papers and doesn't have one of those minging nylon things. We use this every morning - produces coffee at about 85-95 degrees. This is the best bit of kit I have ever brought. It is so easy to use and the best thing is it works for coffee and tea. I am not a big coffee drinker but love my tea. Put in two tea bags and fill jog to level 8 and makes 8 lovely cups of tea and saves on tea bags too! It has a hot plate that keeps the tea hot for about 1 1/2 hours and it makes the coffee or tea really quickly too. Much faster than a kettle and without the hassle of straining tea ...
...(no need to buy extra paper filters or special coffee just normal nescafe or similar is fine, 1 teaspooon per 2 cups) and press one button - easy!
