Bratz toothbrush

Being an advocator of electric toothbrushes, and proper teeth cleaning, I tend not to worry if Little Miss sees a "must have" new toothbrush, as I work on the principle that if she moves with the toy times, then she will keep cleaning her teeth.

She had been coveting this one for a while, and when it was on special offer in Boots. It seemed rude and indeed churlish not to buy her one.

~~The Toothbrush~~

Our toothbrush is blue with a picture of one of the blonde Bratz doll on the front. There are 3 designs in all, and toothbrushes can feature any one of Chloe, Yasmin, and Fianna. Highly decorated, with gold squiggles around the Bratz character, it's almost certain to appeal to Bratz fans.

The toothbrush has yellow on/off buttons on the front, which are easy for small fingers to manipulate, and don't require too much effort.

The toothbrush requires 2 xAA batteries, which when the toothbrush is purchased, are included, and already inside the toothbrush. To replace the batteries, all you do is pull gently at the base and the toothbrush will open and new batteries can be inserted.

The handle is quite slim, so not too chunky for little ones to hold. One of the things I like about it is that whilst the front of the handle is curved, the back is completely flat. This makes it easier for Little Miss to apply the toothpaste to the toothbrush- she simply lies it down, instead of trying to hold the toothbrush whilst manipulating the tube of toothpaste.

The head itself has small bristles which feel quite soft. I prefer a harder toothbrush, but I suppose with all those gums and loose teeth on the go, a really hard head would be disastrous! When turned on, the head gently oscillates, and it's intended to clean teeth and sweep away any plaque.

~~How to use it~~~

Using it is very simple, and just like any other toothbrush. Once children are shown where the on/off buttons are, then it's all very simple. One thing to note about this toothbrush is that the brush head is not replaceable, and since it's recommended that a new toothbrush is bought every three months, then this really is a short term thing.

~~Price and Availability~~

We bought ours from Boots, where the RRP is £5.99, although for some reason, we got ours for 99p…what a bargain!!

~~What we think of it~~

This has certainly got the thumbs up in our household. Little Miss has no problems with teeth cleaning, and has favourite toothpastes, and actually enjoys the whole routine. However, this she does like, and has now had two of the things; a different Bratz character each time. The design of the toothbrush ensures that children will like to have it displayed, and the slim handle makes it comfortable to hold.

Made by Colgate, which is a brand I know and trust as far as tooth care is concerned, I am happy with it as well.

The only thing I did find strange is that the head can not be replaced. However, thinking about it, it's probably so that they can make some money out of the characters and also because what for a little person is "in" one day, will be definitely "out" the next. So, it's probably just as well, because this way Little Miss can try out the other characters and get a bit of a collection going.

A recommended toothbrush at a reasonable price.

Thanks for reading.
