Toothpaste is toothpaste, there isn’t much more one can say really! Or is there?
Well, yes actually! Pop down to your local supermarket and check out the huge range of teeth cleaning products, they fill shelf upon shelf with them! So how on earth do you possibly choose which is the right toothpaste for you and your family?
I spend a lot of time with my dentist, as I have calcium deficiencies, which mean my teeth suffer big time. I’d spend more time with him if he didn’t charge as much as he does! We talk about toothpaste a lot, well, we’ve covered family, holidays etc so I suppose it is inevitable the conversation always reverts back to teeth! His opinion generally is that one brand of toothpaste is very much like another but recommended I use one which contains whitening ingredients (I drink far too much black coffee and have been known to smoke the occasional cigarette!), fluoride and ingredients that prevent the build up of tartar and plaque. But pretty much every brand these days contain very similar ingredients, and all the well-known brands also offer toothpastes that help to whiten your teeth. So I asked my dentist if there was one thing in particular I should look for. He nodded, and said….’taste!’
Colgate Whitening toothpaste is delicious, it’s the main reason I choose it over and above all the other whitening brands. So many others taste so strong that the taste lingers and anything you eat within a few hours of brushing your teeth tastes foul, especially soft drinks! Colgate’s flavour however, is very fresh, very minty but milder than most others I’ve tried. It leaves my teeth feeling smooth and clean and my mouth feeling very fresh for hours after brushing.
It contains a ‘Microcrystal’ formula which is designed to help the toothpaste get into all the tiny nooks and crannies between each tooth for more effecting cleaning. Plus fluoride to prevent the build up of plaque and tartar that could lead to eventual decay. One note however, is that if you’re using fluoride supplements, you should consult your doctor/dentist before using Colgate as you could end up potentially overdosing! Children should also be supervised when using this product, and should use no more than a pea-sized amount, twice a day.
Another plus point is it’s packaging, the tube itself. Many brands have tubes that are very stiff and can split quite easily. My poor mother has very arthritic hands, and squeezing these unyielding tubes can be a real struggle (and painful!) for her. Colgate’s is very supple and flexible, with a light vinyl feel almost, that she finds very much easier for her hands to cope with.
And if you want your Colgate to be a bit more versatile, try these tips. Use a small amount as a temporary filler for any holes in your walls, it dries to a rock hard finish and is ideal for holes left from removing picture hooks etc. Plus, a good friend reliably informs me that he uses it to clean stains off alloy wheels, and nothing else does the job more effectively!
Colgate have been manufacturing tooth hygiene products for over 100 years, so is a name you can trust. And it is alleged that one in four people in the world use a Colgate product regularly. It’ll do for me!
Advantages: Tastes nice, feels good and seems to work for me! Disadvantages: May not be suitable for all - seek advice from your dentist first
...couldn't feel the 'Microcrystals' as Colgate call them! For kids under the age of seven years there are instructions to guide parents in use of Whitening, but to be honest at that age ordinary tooth paste is good enough!!!
The result, using the recommended brushing method, was a cleaner less-stained set of gnashers! I don't want Donnie Osmond smiles, but I on my last visit I avoided the Scale and Polish - no problemo! I may be a particular case ... ...this will sort all your teeth problems out!
The quote on the packet says:
1) Start with a professional cleaning (ie. Get your dentist to start it off)
2) Brush at least twice a day (that I do!)
3) Floss daily (don't tend to bother with that as cleaning gets it all out)
4) See your dentist regularly (ie. every six months)
I has helped my problem (with tea) and because I do brush, it doesn't give the plaque and tartar a chance to build up and ...

Advantages: great packaging, tastes lovely, mild, nice smell Disadvantages: more expensive than other toothpastes, probably doesn't make teeth discernibly whiter
...I was looking for – Colgate Whitening for £1.49 for a 100ml tube. I smiled my beige grin at my other half, who nodded wisely, as I tossed the new purchase into the trolley. My quest for the perfect grin had begun.

But I’m willing to persevere. Let’s face it, without oodles of expensive and painful cosmetic dentistry, Colgate Whitening toothpaste is my best shot at that all-American smile. ...

...the sparkly blue box of Colgate Sensation Deep Clean called out to me. After a year or two of that, I went abroad. For a long stretch. A longer stretch than I could feasibly take toothpaste with me for. The inevitable happened – I ran out. I went to buy some more and found, shock horror, that they sold neither of my two previous brands. It was time, I realized, to try something new again. Since then I’ve lived in a few countries, and ... ...Like most toothpastes these days, Colgate Total Plus Whitening (from now on CTPW) comes in a rectangular cardboard box. This is about 20 cm long and maybe 5 cam wide and deep. The packaging has the big red and white Colgate logo emblazoned on the front with a blue and silver background – the colours, according to toothpaste manufacturers, of white teeth. The silver to represent the sparkling-ness your teeth will soon glitter with, and the blue ...

Some of you may think that I am absolutely bonkers, as I happen to like visiting the dentist, and don't mind having injections, filings or even root reatments. However, when it comes to having my teeth cleaned and polished, thats a compleltely, different story, which you may find strange.I dread the thought of it, as to me it is the most painful of all dentist treatment, my gums are always sore after a visit.I drink tea by the gallons and smoke like a ... ...I happened to come across this fabulous toothpaste, I was astounded with the results. They have a wide range on the market, which are available from most leading supermarkets and chemists. This toothpaste contains fluoride and very minuet micro crystals, which help to reduce the yellow formation tartar, build up that everyone gets ...

Thanks to Colgate the nation now has available a toothpaste which does all of the above and has managed to make it taste nice as well. The product is called Colgate Total Plus Whitening, which is an upgrade from the previous Colgate Whitening toothpaste.

The back of the toothpaste is just a plain white background with a mixture of text and images to inform you on the toothpastes properties ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Colgate Whitening Toothpaste"
Advantages: Familiar and widely available. Disadvantages: Sometimes I get confused between their different types. Packaging isn't always clear.
Colgate is one of those brands that we all instantly trust. The familiar red packaging with white font is, to me at least, very reassuring. In a consumer driven society, we are surrounded by millions of choices and I find that Colgate is one of those brands that I always come back to. In the past, I've tried numerous toothpastes and although I've been impressed, I usually have no brand loyalty...unless it's Colgate. Their whiteningtoothpaste works really well in conjunction with Pearl Drops. Likewise, Colgate have a number of different types of toothpaste and I've had good experiences with their sensitive toothpaste too. Likewise, their toothbrushes are of the utmost quality and very reasonably priced. Also, their pump packaging is very reliable and easy to operate. ...

I am someone who takes quite a bit of pride in my appearance and if there's something I noticed about people right away it is their teeth. I have been searching for what seems like a lifetime for toothpaste that claims to whiten that actually works. I have tried so many but they all claim they work but in reality they actually don't. I was at my last hope when I noticed Colgate's Advanced Whiteningtoothpaste on offer and since I was low on supplies I thought I'd give this a go because when offer what is there to lose.
The company, Colgate is part of the Palmolive group and is an American company. I came across this product when my mum and I were shopping in Safeway and i wanted something that would make my teeth whiter! To be honest with you, when i found my mum looking at Pearl drops, I thought it was a load of rubbish. I thought it would do the same job as ColgateWhiteningtoothpaste but I was persuaded to give it a try!
Just a few days after using Pear Drops, I felt happier with my teeth and surprisingly, my gums were feeling better to. A while before my gums started bleeding an awful lot and after getting treatment for them, they were fine. They were still a bit sore when eating or drinking and ever since using Pearl Drops, I have had no trouble at all. It might just be a coincidence but I believe it ...
