Advantages Advantages Baby's happiness, baby's comfort, reduces colic and really works.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very expensive, but is available on perscription if your doctor will give you it.

Hi there! As most of you know on Ciao I have just recently given birth to my beautiful daughter Lauretta. Lauretta was premature and I was 34 weeks pregnant when I had her. She weighed 5 pounds 3, which I was told was a good weight for her. She then dropped to 4 pound 10, which I was told was normal. She now weighs 9 pounds 3 and is 3 1/2 months old. I am very proud of my daughter she has been through a lot in her young life. When she was born she suffered from jaundice and had to go under a lamp for 3 days, which cured her jaundice. Then she had to be tube fed because she wasn't taking her ... more

Advantages Advantages Stops colic in my experience

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive. Bottle only lasts 3 weeks.

The only thing more distressing than hearing a baby crying, is hearing YOUR baby crying for hours upon hours, day after day. Every parent knows the standard checklist of what to do when their baby starts crying. Are they hungry? Do they need their nappy changed? Are they too hot or cold? Do they have a temperature? Do they need winding? But what happens if it is none of the above? What do you do if it sounds like your baby is genuinely in pain? If she scrunches her little face up, draws her legs in and screams in total agony? For the first three weeks after my baby was born, she used to cry ... more

Advantages Advantages If your baby has Transient Lactose Intolerance this will work amazingly well

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pricey. Must be kept in cold so travelling is a pain

There are few products that I have experienced in life that have been transforming, but this product is one of them. Our baby was normal for her first few days of life then developed a habit of screaming (really screaming in pain) about 40 mins after a feed. This would last for maybe an hour when the explosive bottom burbs would begin. When she did fill her nappy it was bubbly/foamy or in one case projected a couple of feet across the carpet. By 6 weeks we had tried all the standard treatments (Infacol was clearly tasty but did nothing for our little one, Gripewater usually got spilt lots ... more

    Advantages Advantages It works

Disadvantages Disadvantages The price. Tiny 7ml bottle? Has to be prepared with milk in advance.

My 3 week old started with really bad colic symptoms at about a week and a half. Infacol was first recommended. At a cost of roughly £3 a bottle, it seems cheap enough until it runs out after about 3 days, but it did relieve symptoms for that time and then Infacol ceased to be effective. We were then advised to try Colief which costs nearly £12 in Boots! Even worse - it is not available on prescription. Imagine my surprise when I pulled out the tiny 7ml bottle. Suffice to say, I knew it wouldn't last long and true enough, it also lasted less than 4 days. My babies colic treatment had just ... more

    Advantages Advantages no more colic

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive

My little girl was 6 weeks old when I discovered this from an internet search which contained an article from the Daily Telegraph. Unlike 'traditional' colic where babies cry on an evening, my little girl was grouchy and screamed for a lot of the day. I'd tried all the traditional gripe remedies which made her do juicy burps but didn't stop the screaming. Every time she cried, I cried. The price of the Colief was nearly enough to put me off - £9.99 for a measly 7ml (a tiny, tiny bottle) but decided to give it a go for the sake of my sanity. We tried it over the weekend and was disappointed to ... more
