Colin McRae: DiRT (PC)

D,I.R.T. is the latest realese of codemasters take on the Colin Mcrae rally games.D,I.R.T.as the title sugests is an all new look in the series with full HD graphics.Thats not to say that fans will be dissapointed in the game.D.I.R.T.veers a good bit further into arcade territoy than earlier games ,but is still a blast to drive,and some truly stuning graphics.

There are have been plenty of driving games that look impresive,but very few live up to the HD visualson desplay in D.I.R.T.the game is a benchmark in next generation racers in track design,car,and damage modeling.The cars are beautifuly rendered,highly detailed models that look so real you can even see the brake calipers woking.You can loose most of your body parts such as bumper,sideskirts,wheels,hood,exhuast,lo​ads of stuff.The tracks are just as beautiful from the monsoon ridled mountains of japan to the dry desserts of australia,to the tarmac rallys of italy,and the country roads of the the UK.

All these great visuals come at a cost though ,the frame rate suffers somtimes and i noticed slow-down on a few races,especially on tracks with multiple cars on the track.so expect some performance problems unless your running a top of the line pc.slow-down is not as much as the 360 version but still is anoying.

One problem with D.I.R.T is the mutliplayer lacks a lot of the game modes theres only hill-climb and rally.the usual way of online play is available your dumped in a lobby with a choice of servers then you vote on a track.you cant pick a car you want just random all the time which is dissapointing.

When you stop stairing at the graphics you are presented with six game modes including,rally,rallycross,hillclimb.cro​ssover,time attack and rally aid.the game does a good job in easing you in to these modes.explained by Travis pastrana at the start of an event.

Realistic damage does happen alot but the game stil has an arcade feel to it .but this dosen't by no means make this easy once you get past the first few events things really get dificult The handling is a bit floaty and can feel likr your not on the track a bit..

Some exellent cars in D.I.R.T. and 4x4 including.subaru,mitsubishi,toyota,shogu​n,206,and loads more.50 cars to unlock in total.As well as a series of the game throws 60 events at you and 150 car extras to unlock.

All in all i'm pleased with this game but was expecting a bit more from codemasters,the multiplayer is the only thing i'm truly dissapointed with but that said i think you should give it a try if you like driving games.The gamr costs around 25-30 pound from all good games stores.
