I am sure that throughout the golfing world the quote "Colin Montgomerie... the best player never to win a major" has been uttered hundreds of times. But is it about time we abandoned this hope?? Lasts weeks British open displayed further evidence for people to forget that label because he will never win a major. Although he seemingly produces sparkling form week in week out on The PGA European Tour, Colin seems to be unable to reproduce in the 4 competitions that matter most. He displayed a lack of patience last week and on everyday we saw his head going down within 5 holes because he hadn't made a birdie. You didn't see Tiger Woods doing that, on day 1 he was still level par after 8 holes but a great display of patience and concentration saw him shoot a spakling 67. Surely Colin should start to take notice of this fact, it works for Tiger and other golfers like Ernie Els.
If Colin is going to win a major then surely his attitude during the tournaments has to change. Come On Colin, give us a major and allow us to say how truly good you are!!!
