My parcel wasn't collect for 9 days! Not good enough!

Advantages Website is very straight forward and simple to use. Service is good value.
Disadvantages Goods very delayed. Might never have got there if I hadn't noticed a problem!
I recently bought some items with MandM Direct which unfortunately had to be returned (Superdry Clothing was not designed to fit "normal" people!) and noticed on their website that they were advertising a company that offered cheaper rates than Royal Mail for returning goods.
I had a quick look at the details and thought I would give it a whirl. So I went on and followed some very simple instructions on the Collect + website. I have to say that at this point I was very impressed as the website was easy to use and explained things very well. You type in your postcode and it tells you the nearest place to take you parcel, which would be a local corner shop or similar. Then you have to book it in on the website and pay. Then you print a label out, stick it on the parcel and then take it to the place you chose. All very simple! I really did like the whole experience up until now.
I took my parcel in to the shop on 27th October and got my receipt with a tracking number on. I never thought any more about it and several days later realised that the money from the returned goods had not arrived in my account. So I thought I would go online to the Collect + website and get the details from when it arrived back with MandM, so I could call them and query the delay in the refund.I followed what again were simple instructions and typed in my tracking number...
Apparently, according to the system, I had taken my parcel in on the 15th October and it was still in the shop??? So I called Collect + a little bemused and asked them to explain this. They couldn't explain the date error, but they could tell me that the parcel was still in the shop that I had left it with! They had never collected it from the shop. They gave me no real explanation as to how this had happened, but said that they would collect it the following day. Ten days after I had dropped it off!So...they may be cheaper...but what good is that if it takes them that long to deliver it? If I had never looked into it the parcel would still be there now! So in the end I was not overly impressed, which is a shame as the idea was great and the website process very simple to follow!
****UPDATE****I found out this morning that my parcel has still not been collected! I have had to spend ages on the phone to both MandM and Collect + discussing the issue. Everytime I speak to someone they ask me the same questions, so they are obviously not making a record of any of this and am still not any further with it! Arghhh! Stick to Royal Mail! They may strike but it would still get there quicker!!!
Back to Royal Mail it is!
