Review of Archos 605 WiFi 160 GB by chaizak

Advantages: More functions than any other player on the market
Disadvantages: Have to pay for almost everything extra

I bought Archos 605 WiFi for two reasons at first instead of other MP3-MP4 players because of it's WiFi browser capabilities and the Linux system it operates but I found myself with a surprise when I received it. The got my MP4 player charged it through the usb cable provided and the tried to connect it to the internet but it said I had to buy the internet browser from the website. After much thought I bought it for 30 euros and did regret it the ...
...have been officially released from Archos to get more you have to be copy them manually from the opera widgets website to the device but still they work fine. About the Linux system the fact that they mention it is a joke probably from archos since the system is so custom that you can't run/develop any application for it so I wouldn't consider it as a Plus anymore but it's very reliable with hardly any crushes. Another plus when you buy this Archos ... Read review

You get what you pay for - So buy the next one up!
Review of Archos 405 2GB by quininho

Advantages: Music quality, size, design
Disadvantages: memory, video quality, no docking station

...each! Whilst I like Archos as a general rule and think their products are durable and sleek looking, this idea of having to spend £15 to get a specific format add-on is a bit of a con. The 405 does not come with a kickstand and so while I am watching media on the train this is not a problem but at home it can become tiresome to hold it or have to prop it up against something. The navigation keys on this device are not the easiest to use. The 605 ...
...have come to expect from Archos and the dimensions are excellent (99.6x78x13.2) which means this really can fit in a pocket. It only weighs 146g as well so the "portability" is excellent. The main plus for this little player is the quality of the audio. Bass is excellent and tunes sound crisp and sharp. To get the best out of it though you will need to dispose of the standard headphones that come with the player in favour of something with a little ... Read review

Digital Entertainment Greatness.
Review of NETGEAR Digital Entertainer EVA700 by RedNaxelaster

Advantages: Direct USB Play, Wired & Wireless Connectivity, Intel Viiv Certified
Disadvantages: Less than perfect User interface, No HDMI Connectivity

This is the first Intel Viiv certified digital media adaptor. Great for those who want to share media content from their PC all over the home. This device can connect to your network either wired or wirelessly, the wireless supports the 802.11b/g standards, but if you want to play with HD content, then you'll probably want to use the wired connection, it gets a bit slow over wireless. The wireless security on this model is up-to-date, which is ...
...at the moment, (128-Bit Encryption). All of the major video, audio and image filetypes are supported by the device, so no need to worry about incompatibility. Installation is a little tricky, as it sometimes won't work with Windows Media Centre very well. Overall, it's a good device, with all the features you need in such a device, superb. ... Read review

Philips DVDR3460H
Review of Philips DVDR3460H by ColinWhiteley

Advantages: Sleek design, good picture quality
Disadvantages: unreliable record, no DVD to HD, nuisance OSD

...TV? - Forget it! - Philips DVDR3460H will let you down time and time again. Out of 5 sessions 3 were failures - and it could get worse. Reason? - Philips have set themselves up as some sort of ‘media police’ and if the evenings transmission has just one ‘protected’ program, the Philips DVDR3460H will delete the whole evenings recording! So you want to record from DVD to hard disk? - Forget it! - After loosing the original tape of a holiday to Egypt, ...
...to hard disk - the Philips DVDR3460H does not copy from it’s DVD to hard disk. So you want to enjoy slow motion? - Forget it! - The Philips DVDR3460H ‘On Screen’ display covers so much of the screen you will be lucky to see the pitch, let alone the ball! There is no option to hide on screen displays during playback in ‘set up‘. The Philips DVDR3460H should not be sold until it has had a major software upgrade. The sleek and good looking Philips ...
