Do NOT buy Samsung until you have read this. I bought a brand new DVD-HR720 from Samsung which had muffled sound. I contacted Sansung who got Martin Dawes to try to fix it. After 2 months with it still NOT working Samsung said I should not have contacted them and told me to go back to the seller! Yes after 2 months failing to fix it they said it was not their problem! Sony RDR-HX510 After much research I had narrowed down the selection to 2 products - 1 from Panasonic and this 1 from Sony. Both were similarly priced when I bought the Sony RDR-HX510 at £320. I bought this for my own use at home. It was really quite easy to set up. I was quite impressed as the manual was all in enlish, unlike some products where you have to flick through all the different languages to find the english instructions!! The manual is quite big though but does have alot of info of how to use it in. The remote that comes with it has quite small buttons and is very long and thin which is not ideal, especially if your one with ...
...The recording quality is fantastic though, but it does take a long time to burn things to the DVD. Another bad point about it is that it will only record on DVD-R blank disks.
