So Speaky HDMI 500GB Multimedia Player is great value for money!

Advantages: Price, usability, design
Disadvantages: None I have come across

I bought this product for my dad for Christmas. It was to save me having to burn films for him and save on dvd clutter. Firstly, when i opened the box i was pleasently surprised as even though i thought the multimedia hdd looked good in internet pictures i thought it looked a lot more stylish in 'person'. After a quick transfer of around 10 avi files (took around 3-4 minutes) from my laptop to the hdd, i connected the player to my dad's tv using ...

Advantages: Small size, nice style/look, low power consumption

EVA 9150-great addition to my living room; not to my bank

Advantages: Massive file range, incredible wireless networking, quiet, looks good
Disadvantages: Simply too costly right now - extra features do not justify price

This machine is fantastic - it has even converted the wife who is as Luddite as they come. Its connection speeds with my router are pheomenal, using the n-standard, and I've been able to stream HD video from my router upstairs to this downstairs effortlessly. Misses out Windows Media Centre altogether (good thing!) and simply indexes your shared folders on whatever is your server. For me, I have a 1TB MyBook attached to my router and this works perfectly. ...

Eltax DVR - 555 HD - DVD BREAKS EASILY

Advantages: cophy video to dvd via hard drive
Disadvantages: dvd player can break down. Should not need to replace whole machine

I own A eltax dvr - 555 HD from Hughes some 3 years and half years ago and now the dvd within the machine is not working. Will not play or eject a dvd when you put one in. The hard drive still works and you can view what is saved on there. Bit of pain when I was trying to copy videos onto Dvd via the hard drive. Also the cover has run out on it.
