Review of sony combo SLV D950
Review of Sony SLV D950 by silentpig

Advantages: It's a combo
Disadvantages: Couple of faults

Ok so it's a combo. It's old but I'm going to review it anyway-give it a chance. Firstly-the look. Well it's not an amazing look but to be honest I don't care that much as it saves a lot of space. Picture and sound are about average for sony-which means better than the average DVD-VCR combo. However I found that mine had several faults, the main one being the faulty DVD tray but it was easy to fix (just lift it up). Anyway, instructions were pretty ...
...it up but the main advantage of this is the fact it's a combo which boasts everthing you'd expect from a VCR (Video+) and a DVD player (great picture and sound) but in one-meaning-for me-only one scart lead-freeing up the other on you're TV for other things (games consoles etc). It is this factor and the relatively cheap price of £100 these days that would make me recommend this to anyone. ... Read review

Sony has got it right again! - UPDATED
Review of Sony SLV D900 by Rp200

Advantages: Slim, Compact and easy to use
Disadvantages: Can be a little more attractive

...shops, I came across the Sony SLV D900. My main problem was the lack of space that I had with the TV cabinet, it had to house a new DVD Player, VCR and the Digital TV Box...... So you can imagine my delight when I came across the Sony Combi, its compact, easy to use, saves space, light in weight, nice design, although i do think there should some sort of cover to hide the front buttons, but this is not a major problem as it still looks good. This ...
...see the sense in why Sony had designed it this way, its quick and easy to plug in the necessary wires to use your camcorder, computer console or any other A/V equipment, which stops you from either fiddling behind the appliance and putting it into the wrong place or trying to find the correct slot behind the huge tele! *Nice Fit As I said above one of the main reasons why I purchased this is because of the compact design, rather then buying a separate ... Liteon LVW5045? More like Liteoff.
Review of LIteOn LVW-5045 by wilkinsgraham

Advantages: Low cost
Disadvantages: Dodgy menus, very disk fussy, lousy DVD burner that will fail.

...eventually replaced the DVD burner in mine with a Liteon 20X unit for about £16. This solved the problem, and for the moment, it's been working perfectly. Fitting a replacement burner is straightforward enough, though getting it to neatly fit into the existing front fascia is a bit more challenging. ... Read review

The Ipod Alternative
Review of Samsung YP-K5JAB - Digital AV player - flash 4 GB - 1.71" - black by JackWilliam

Advantages: Looks, sound, originality
Disadvantages: battery life, loudness of speakers

The Samsung YP K5 mp3 player is immediately striking. Its sleek design and black finish would seamlessly fit into Batman's arsenal of gadgets. When I first bought the product it was immediately noticed by friends and strangers and as an aid to 'street rep' it works wonders. I was at first dubious of the sound of the speakers - I bought it over the internet and so had no way of trying out the player to check the sound capacity. However, my worries ... Read review
